I had this cool dynamic with my dad, he showed me Dire Straits when I was maybe 11 or 12, and then at 15 or I found out Mark had a solo career and showed his solo stuff back to my dad. He appreciated it a lot and now has all of both Dire Straits' and Mark's albums in an mp3 player hooked to his car.
Tried showing J.J. Cale too but he didn't like it as much. He enjoys my covers though
