holy shit
>>130062718>one of the most patriotic songs in rock history was written by fucking Rivers Cuomo
AI slop
what is it 2014 again? Foolish Father is a seriously good song especially with bridge outro, the closing 3 songs are solid too but don't quite live up to what they're an homage to besides that theres a few half decent moments on the album, Go Away's chorus is cute, used to be a big debate if this or white album was better, white has the worse lows but also has King of the World and Endless Bummer the former being one of the closest songs to sounding like old Weezer
every once in awhile an artist comes back after years of bad music like Weezer and they release their first decent and soulful album in ages and then they title it something like "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" which multiplies off the failures of their last several soulless years and makes it feel like a massive moment for Rivers, for me, for the world that knows the band. Same sorta thing happened with Liz Phairs latest album Soberish which was after she had over a decade of selling out from her indie origins (hard to blame gotta get that buk) and Soberish was a sort of return to indie styling and the title track itself captured her loneliness aswell as her alcoholism sorta equating the two together like alcohol was a date always there waiting for her but thinking about her finally returning to her indie self and writing these personal lyrics I started bawling when she sang>waited such a long time to be with you and here you are now, >i am soberish and I can't make a sound, >But I will open my arms and wrap them around you
The last 3-parts song is great
>>130063198its a great intentional homage to the climax of Only in Dreams, and Anonymous despite being a short little song also was the arguably top 2 choruses of the album
