They idea of listening to only music repulses them. They'll listen and enjoy songs, but they don't see the point if there is no singer.
Next you're going to tell me that people can actually see apples inside their heads lmao okay retard
>>130066665>>130066725I can't see apples nor listen to music without since and I am genuinely retarded
>>130066752I mean i CAn see apples, I just cant see them in my head
>>130066752>>130066763gottem
>>130066665let people enjoy things
>>130066665yeah they are called normies. they dont seek melody they are retarded drone NPCs with no soul. They cannot imagine a story in their heads with melody they need a dumb retard narrating to them.
I can't listen to music without apples
>>130068349can you listen to strawberry fields without imagining strawberries?
>>130066665Another realization is that most people even on here don't actually enjoy music. They only want to be "part of the fanbase". That's why you see retarded posts like "how do i get into this band"? Or they really like the aesthetics or the notoriety some artist have and they think they must enjoy it and there's some sort of a math equation they need to derive to understand why it's good. You need to literally explain it to them.

>>130066665this is why you can't have nice culturehttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pov0MKuyJfg
>>130069528If the music is actually good it just comes down to listening to it enough times though
>>130069788Retard

>>130069842You should kill yourself.
>>130069528I mean this is true for a lot of people, but the evidence here is not good. There's plenty of shit that I've been curious about for a long time but didn't quite understand why it was so celebrated. Hearing somebody else's perspective can really shift your own if there's some history that helps build the context, or if there's just an element you weren't focusing on. Have you never talked about art critically with someone? Something as simple as "the drums are really cool" would be enough to make someone focus on the drums where maybe they previously took them in passively.Asking "how do I get into x" doesn't necessarily mean they just want to be in the club, if that's what they wanted they'd just pretend they like it. It's more of a "what's the big deal with this band? It doesn't hit for me immediately and I want to hear why people like it"
>>130066665My mom calls ambient music ''litany''
>>130070362Nothing has ever clicked for me because someone pointed out something to me. If the drums are really cool, I'll notice it. It's fine to be interested in why some band is celebrated in a historical context, but trying to make yourself like something because it's revered means you have a very weak innate taste.
>>130067606I like John Green he's a sweet man
>>130068349>t.
>>130070786I think you are somewhat arrogantly overestimating your own critical prowess
>>130070834>critical prowessNo such thing.
>>130070786>If the drums are really cool, I'll notice iteven if you do have great listening skills, this doesn't apply to conceptual stuff. A lot of the reasons things hit for me are because of ideas that my tastes drift throughout over time, and that's something internal that would need to be explained if I wanted to tell somebody why this music is interesting to me at the moment. That explanation could be interesting to a friend as well and could be the thing that tips them towards appreciating something. "I didn't think of it that way" vs "I didn't hear that"The point of music for me is to enjoy it, if I can find a way mentally to have fun with some really shallow boring surface depth pop garbage, then I'm succeeding. The ultimate goal would be to have access to absolutely everything. Surely there is stuff you don't like, and surely there are people that do like it. The reason for that dissonance isn't that you just have perfect taste, it's that they have a perspective you don't and it allows them to like it. If you can find a way in, then you're better off
>>130068349I cant listen to music without visualizing rotating apples in my head
>>130066665sometimes you need background music and lyrics are distracting
