One of my favorite bands. Truly singular in their dark, atmospheric, and cinematic sound. Lynchian, even. I tried getting /mu/ to take note of their music on several occasions but nobody seemed to care. And probably still don't. Anyway, I had the pleasure of working with the man on one occasion. Was hoping they'd make a comeback but he seemed to slow down around the time of the pandemic. They released a record last year (I think) and it was pretty forgettable if I'm being honest. Saw them live last year too and it was just Taylor playing solo with a girl on keys. Pretty mellow but nice nonetheless. No cause of death announced but it was obviously suicide. Shit sucks. He profusely apologized the next day and continued to try to be friendly to me. I really admired and loved him, I think he would have forced himself on me if I had not waken my friend. I don't doubt the guy was a greaser, he looks like one and I've been around enough dudes like him in my life. They all got mad puss, even the ugly/weird looking ones. The underlying theme in all of my observations of that was that they had status and successfully exploited it. If you have status of any kind, you can get away with plenty of things regardless of what level you're at. Someone has to be king of the nerds, after all. I think a lot of people pedestalize artists for touching their souls and project themselves onto them which can lead to things like this. People are pretty fucked up desu.
