It's complete dog shit, what the hell happened?

They lost the guy who was somehow able to make retarded lyrics like "She had Billie Eilish style" and songs about wet dreams featuring Charli XCX or the effect of anti-depressants on your ability to get a boner sound sincere and replaced it with, not one, but three unoriginal female singers. So now they still have ridiculous lyrics like "I'm a walking TikTok trend", but instead of being sung by a sort of new sincerity type depressed British man they're warbled by three girls doing a mediocre Joni Mitchell impression.

Oh cool a thread not about kpop! Oh… it’s just a couple miserable faggots complaining about popular things that young people enjoy.
>>
>>130084589
What did you like about the new one compared to the two latter ones young man.
>>
>>130084570
That perfectly capitulates it, what a shame, I wonder if the guy will come back or do a solo project because I can't stand listening to this and not cringing.
>>

I like the way the girls voice sounds when she sings. I enjoy the melodies.
>>
>>130084469
was never good
>>
>>130084469
Undeniably dogshit, and yet still better than anything they made with that previous shitty singer.
>>
>>130084469
I liked it and it made me a fan of them now. Fucking hated everything they've done before. Definitely some shitty lyrics on it though
>>
>>130084469

the only remotely interesting thing about them left
>>
>>130084469
as alluded to, it's just so estrogen-y and wussy now. they progressively lost their masculine edge with each album (nervous conditions > for the first time > afut) and after isaac left all that remained was rounded off cutesy warbly arthoe music without an ounce of grit or abrasion
>>
Their live album was better for what they ended up doing in Forever Howlong.

>nooooo you cant just have opinions and critique music on the 4channel music board!!! Think of the young people chud!
>>
>>130085700
Give me pleasant-sounding cute arthoe music over tryhard homoviolence music to get buttfucked to any day please god

The temu version of this band, Racing Mount Pleasant are pretty good.

i was totally prepared to hate on this album bc Isaac's voice was a major draw to their music for me but desu the songwriting chops are def still there. all 3 of their albums are a bit different but each have something to love. Story telling in Two Horses was beautiful and the weirdo medieval vibe of For the Cold Country is super cool. also love the acoutic guitar fills on that song. and although the 3 new singers arent very distinct and dont match up to Isaac it didnt ruin the album like i was expecting.

This band’s songs obviously always had similarities with the songs and songwriting style of the fiery furnaces but the last album especially is a homage and love letter to that band’s style
>>

I wish they'd recorded an album in 2019 before they lost all their edge, that no-wave-inspired sound was fantastic
>>
I liked it more than when they had the whiny guy singing
>>
>>130084469
Isaac left and so did their edge and dynamics.
>>

They've always been a dog shit band. No surprises there.
