> get the ick from the dad fanbase that your dad music drew (it's basically musico-pedophilia when you think about it)

Was she the daughter of jim morrison or elvis?
>>
>>130091762
>abandon the style of music that you've spent your life cultivating
that's about 5 years

Some older woman should teach her how to shut up and swa-, I mean play the blues if she wants the cash
>>
>>130091798
From op's pic it's either witz or baum
>>
>>130091762
>zoomie throws tantrum
>hurr the age gap in my followers' comments!
>omg there are old people in this world, how disgusting

The meltdown will be apocalyptic when zoomies start growing old.
Or the antiaging industry will be basically the future 'big tech'. Everything to maintain the illusion they couldn't possibly ever be old
>>
She's nineteen years old. Experimenting with new styles after mastering a genre that's been overwhelmingly confined to the nostalgia-circut ghetto since before her parents were alive is *exactly* what she should be doing right now.

English translation plox?
>>
>>130094969
She should be less like Greta Van Fleet and more like Taylor Alison. There's a hard ceiling on how big you can get as a nostalgia act, which every pure bluesrocker is.
>>
>>130091762

nice larp

Zoomershiticide + literally who
>>
Seething incel thread of the day
>>
>>130093818
It's an attention thing. Any time someone, especially a woman, throws a tantrum about "people on social media" and totally quits it's a stunt done to gain attention and sympathy and they'll be back within a month if that. She'll be no diffferent. She's a jailbait/barely legal girl playing boomer music, who the fuck did she think she was going to attrract? Zoomoid white boys aren't listening to that shit and neither is Tyrone or Pablo.
>>
>>130098397
>She's a jailbait/barely legal girl playing boomer music
What is "boomer music" in this context?
>>
>>130091762
Her problem is more that she doesn't have the personality or appearance for blues and if this was the 70s she wouldn't be Bonnie Raitt, she'd be Debby Boone.
>>
>>130098511
^This. What would convince anyone that a girl this petite could do blues in any believable way? Janis Joplin looked and sounded the part, her not so much.
>>
>>130098578
I love Janis way more than I could ever love this sloot, but she wasn't nearly pretty enough to get signed as a solo artist in the post MTV world.

Well, okay, Lizzo and Megan Trainor did, but much as I dislike the both of 'em, they were only ugly because they were fat. In a post-Ozempic world, that's obsolete.

>>130098397
You guys missed the point and don't see what the problem with this chick actually is. Which is that she is a rich girl cosplayer literally LARPing as a 70s music person right down to her outfit and haircut. She's not trying to play blues in an updated or modernized context for zoomers she's literally just girl Greta Van Fleet, and anyway she probably couldn't do the former anyway. Left to her own devices she would just be Clairo or some other fake rich girl zoomer "indie" musician.
>>
>>130098432
Blues
>>
>>130098432
Who do you think the audience for blues music is? It's old white boomers.
>>
>>130091762
This was pretty retarded.

This girl really didn't understand that young people haven't cared about "the blues" since the '60s, and to be an accomplished blues player is to get a boomer dad fanbase.

She also presented herself in a dated visual style (leather jacket etc) like some rocker or blues player from the past, with no connection to recent trends. And doesn't really look that young either. It's no wonder she had a bunch of 60 year olds commenting on how this is "real music" and a "real woman". What did she expect?

And now she insults all those fans? Good luck with changing your style to attract zoomers, I guess
>>
>>130094841
okay, but find a better excuse
>>
>>130098671
she claims to have no agent yet she played at White House events
what a weird plant
>>
>>130098924
Zoomers are insufferable, you're right.
>>
>>130098924
That's halfway there and yadda yadda stupid retro clothes and whatnot. There's nothing wrong with blues if you put your own contemporary spin on it, which this girl obviously is not doing and probably couldn't anyway since she has no talent to do that. Led Zeppelin clearly did not try to sound like the 1930s bluesmen they admired, they made their own version of it for the (then) modern day.
>>
>>130098432
Only boomers had an obsession with the blues. Even Gen Xers already really started to reject it as a defining part of boomer rock that they wanted to distinguish themselves from (see the increasing removal of all its traces from punk, indie and metal)
>>
>>130099084
I have nothing against blues, but it's just very naive not to understand how limited an impact it's had on new music since the 70s or 80s

If you could boil down the essence of what aspect of boomer music we don't continue very much anymore in new music, it would be bluesiness

Even black music lost bluesiness and even "soulfulness" sometime in the 00s
>>
>>130099093
nta but you saying AIC and Pearl Jam didn't play blues rock?
>>
>>130099138
I was saying the influence was gradually in the wane across the 70s and 80s.

Critics had noted that AIC and Pearl Jam were closer to classic rock (then meaning boomer music) than real grunge in the vein of influences of punk or The Pixies or whatever, and it's probably the little Hendrixisms that Pearl Jam were seen as less cool than Nirviana to punks or critics

And those specific bands were basically the last two popular rock bands to bear any trace of bluesiness, unless you count John Mayer, who was just an individual hobbyist muso nerd who practiced blues alone in his room since nobody else at school had any interest in that style anymore

It makes sense that Mayer eventually was drawn to the Grateful Dead and jamband world, which besides the ghettoize worlds of blues and americana/country in themselves, is one of the only fresh channels where various older musical strains (including bluesy elements, although jam music tends to be more mixolydian) have been incorporated to varying degrees with other styles

>>130099093
i wanna move that point more to the late 90s ie. when Millenials started to become the main audience for music, but then music in general basically went to shit then anyway
>>
she knows one trick, the quick slides
>>
>>130099213
That wall of text anon basically self-owned when he admitted that music died when it stopped having blues sounds in it (ie. since nu metal).
>>
She can slide on mein dick anytime she wants
>>
>>130099237
That could be an issue as well, I somehow recall that Bonnie Raitt could do a little more than just that.
>>
>>130099213
Yeah, the 00s is when it felt like the last traces of blues were removed from rock overall (whether indie or emo or djent etc), a few specific acts/artists excepted
>>
>>130099258
I wasn't making an argument against blues, just stating the fact that its influence has gradually (and then rapidly) waned and disappeared.

I'm not saying that's good or bad, it's just the reality. Mostly for the reason that black people themselves abandoned it as a cultural and creative force a log time ago
>>
>>130099258
There was still quite a bit of blues styles evident in the 90s although it was more prominent in the flood of girl singer-songwriter albums than rock.

Yasssss! This. So much this. You sickos need to stop listening to she/her music.
>>
>>130099367
I wasn't. I have no interest in nostalgia-circut acts. Least of all ones made up of people literally younger than me.
>>
>>130100353
>circut
>>
>>130099367
how does he move like that....
>>
>>130099084
She's not trying to be a blues musician or even a real musician. She liked playing guitar, maybe, and has a rich dad and is reasonably pretty so rich dad moves her to Nashville, gets her hooked up with the biggest talent agency in the country using his money and connections, and she's thus well on her way to making money. She'll stick with music by pivoting to generic pop just like Taylor Swift (also had rich parents) did now that people know who she is and do modelling and shit.

>>130099031
She's represented by William Moris Endeavor which is owned by Ari Emmanuel who's Rahm Emmanuel's brother and basically the biggest talent agent on the planet. WME also owns WWE and UFC. She's about as much of an industry plant as you can get.
>>
>>130102188
but when a boomer like Emmylou Harris did it (her dad was an Army officer) it was ok because she was a boomer, right?
>>
>>130102252
Oh and Bonnie Raitt, let's just say she did not grow up in a shack in Appalachia either.
>>
>>130102252
>>130102306
As far as I'm aware Harris and Raitt's parents didn't buy them musical careers the way this chick's did.
>>
>>130091762
>musico-pedophilia
Lmao. Nice bait thread, OP.
>>
>>130098511
>>130098578
lame

her only issue is that she doesnt really do fat fucking awesome riffs, her songwriting is immature (forgivable), and while she seems like a competent player ive never heard any cool shit from her. not a single bad ass line.

shes cute, got a modelling contract (wheres the bitching about the lurkers in that field?) and its cool she wants to shrug off weirdos.

id just really like to hear some fucking bad ass guitar from her. (which i havent)
>>
>>130105322
Greta Van Fleet didn't exactly deliver that either.
>>
>>130099093
Yeah, my boomer grandpa loves old blues shit, it sounds repetitive to me. Sure, there's some good blues rock stuff, Stones and Zep have classics, I won't lie, but I like jazz much more, a lot more variety
