Surely BOC is going to open their own store page like the other Warp acts and put all their old unreleased works for sale.
>>130100256I dunno man. Even if they didn't want to put out stuff they see as sub par, they could have put out the various fucking cool unknown live tacks out now, It's been 25 plus years, yet they clearly put the kibosh on that 17 year old leaking any more than the 3 soundboard atp tracks. Some shit is only going to come out after they die, if that
>>130099545the only BOC is Blue Öyster Cult, faggot
Will it ever happen?>inb4 it never existed
>>130101535Are there any tracks known from this unreleased project? I assume so, because why else would people be asking for it?
>>130101646https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEPPv-o68KYAll we have is a minute snippet, which slaps. The brothers have mentioned they went through a shoegaze period, so based on available sample, it seems like this could be shoegaze/rock album that is way different from anything else they've released
>>130101879This is the first time I'm ever hearing this and it sounds completely different to their usual stuff. I am curious now too

Big dump of all the stuff in the Societas x Tape, mostly FLAC, all very carefully sourced, but not taggedtheres more than whats in this screenshothttps://mega.nz/folder/AtlBhTaa#zIidaJuVSolVr5CBDqiHNA
Also, here is every released BoC album, single, EP, comp appearance, remix, in a very tidy and compact collection, including stuff like the Wouldn't You Like To Be Free snippet, all meticulously sourced from Log'd FLACs or Qobuz.https://mega.nz/folder/N0FnjAQR#-vxP-eyFCbT9XXWY_zETmAlike for the aquarius single that is sourced from the actual files before being pressed to recordthis one is all MP3, but LAME 3.100 encoded, extremely high quality, indistinguishable from lossless
is it true that the BOC said "yeah, in a way, we are Reddit"?

I'm gonna guess that Hydrogen Helium Lithium Leviathan is the single, and I think we're getting it this week.
I saw the brothers at a grocery store in Auchenshuggle yesterday. I told them how cool it was to meet them in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother them and ask them for photos or anything. Michael said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but Marcus kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face.I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard them chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw them trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen VHS tapes in their hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sirs, you need to pay for those first.” At first they kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the tapes and started scanning it multiple times, Marcus stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, Michael kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

>>130105928It's good, underrated - overhated.it's supposed to sound like a old film score and it achieves this very well, if you don't like film scores you probably won't enjoy it.

>>130107325you're gay as fuck for hating the "drop" on reach for the dead
I think every project after Music has the Right to Children is vastly superior to it, and I've never quite understood the hype. There are some amazing songs on it but so much of it just barely gets a pass.Telephasic Workshop, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, Rue the Whirl (Their all time worst song) and Pete Standing Alone are hardly masterpieces are they? They're boring compared to the stuff they would go on to do later. Compare a beat centric song like "Sunshine Recorder" from Geogaddi to any of those and it's just vastly superior and more interesting textually.
>>130105928A bit hit and miss, but when it hits, it's among some of their best. Reach for the Dead, Nothing is Real, and New Seeds are all masterpieces; other songs while less original compared to the rest of their catalogue are nonetheless solid. Palace Posy though divisive amongst fans shows off a style of vocal editing I find utterly sublime--the ritualistic beat paired with the chanting style of song spiritually enthralls me (the Inferno writeup mentioning a bigger emphasis on vocal distortion makes me hope they do more songs in this style). Most of the lesser songs are merely underbaked; tracks like Cold Earth and Come To Dust have a solid base, but could have used more rhythmic development. Since I am in the camp that is not too in love with Campfire Headphase, I see the album as a great return to form, with hints of something greater. Though I'll say there's some perfectly valid criticism of this album, it was disappointing watching fans rush to judgment given that all their music takes patience to appreciate.
"You Could Feel The Sky" is the coolest song title ever
>>130108182Its genuinely among the best things they've ever made. Top 3 at least. For me it's the climax and culmination of everything Geogaddi was building up towards except there's no release, there's no hope. It's pure dread and anxiety followed by death. Paired with Corsair, it solidifies Geogaddi as the fucking og of their entire discography.
>>130108182Why?
When listening to 5.9.78 from A Few Old Tunes, does anyone else get a space/cosmic/interstellar vibe from the song? Or is this just me? That is what I associate that song with. What does everyone associate or get from 5.9.78?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHxe89CLev8
>>130109065since you were listening to it, friendly reminder that just a few months ago somebody put out a high quality rip of it, along with some other old tunes. https://youtu.be/9S7cVCFUqE8?t=933It has never sounded better, also there's a download link in the description
>>130109168Thanks. Is Some Old Tunes (the 11 tracks) different from A Few Old Tunes and Old Tunes Vol. 2? Or is it just some fan made compilation consisting of a different ordered tracklist?
>>130109236yes it's different, that's why it doesn't have all the tracks. But this is actual CD quality material.
Most underrated BOC track? For me, it's Seven Forty Seven. Feels like looking into the face of God yet even fairly big fans of the group don't know it. If it was released on one of their major albums, it would have been an iconic hit, but for better or worse it's just a random compilation track it takes a while to stumble upon. Do the brothers knowingly leave some of their best tracks in random nooks and crannies just so they can be discovered that way?
>>130109254I know high quality versions of Old Tunes Vol. 1 and 2 got high quality rips earlier this year, but I didn't know about this Some Old Tunes rip. Thanks again
>>130109347those were still tape rips, not much is known of some old tunes other than it audibly obviously being better than any previous version.>On December 24th 2025, a video was uploaded by Twoism user babylulu containing high quality versions of 11 tracks from Old Tunes Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.[1] The original source of these tracks is an anonymous contact of babylulu.[2] Although their provenance is uncertain they are generally believed to be legitimate.
>>130109387I am doing a side by side comparison right now with my headphones and yeah... you can really tell the difference in quality between the Some Old Tunes rip and the newer Old Tunes 1 and 2 rips. I wonder who babylulu's contact could be?
>>130107494tard
>>130107727>Rue the Whirl (Their all time worst song)utter sacrilege, one of their best actually
>>130109340Macquarie RidgeIt's my favorite song of theirs and it's not on any streaming service, it has like a million views on youtube so I guess it's not super obscure but it is truly one of their all time greatest songs and I can't believe they never put it out beyond as a bonus track for japan
>>130106895>>130107073>>130107494What makes it reddit?
>>130107494Nice rebuttal NIGGER
>>130101879I hope to hear this song in its entirety one day before I die
>>130104834Underrated
>>130109340I love "One Very Important Thought", the simple short closer on MHTRTC (non bonus editions). I must've played that track several thousand times over. It's not necessarily the content of the spoken word message that I like, but more the woman's voice and the way she speaks. But the synths in this track hit me right in the soul. It is, for me, one of their most nostalgic tracks ever. It's simple, light, beautiful, warm, calm, soothing, comforting, drifty, nostalgic. The first time I ever heard this track, random memories from my childhood that were hidden and locked away deep for more than a decade resurfaced. Those memories always pop up whenever I listen to this track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnopyFg5msU

The original file of Playboi Carti's "Believe Me" surfaced 2 days ago -- an updated, higher/original quality version of the song from 8 months ago that sampled Bonjr's "It’s O.K.; You’re O.K."... which itself sampled both "Seven Forty Seven" and "A06 (5D)." https://pillows.su/f/be5e834279efd6c6b8aab964692346f2stream without downloadinghttps://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/comments/1swtnj5/the_original_file_of_playboi_cartis_believe_me/
>>130109340>but for better or worse it's just a random compilation track it takes a while to stumble uponI wouldn't exactly call Warp20's vinyl box set compilation some "random compilation". It's actually pretty good, and I really wish I was into vinyl back in 2009. I would've definitely gotten this boxset. Seven Forty Seven is actually on the "Unheard" part of the compilation that contains some good tracks.>>130113507Is this from the Soundcloud/before the self titled mixtape era? 2014-2017?
