post your songs in progress >https://voca.ro/1fi5kxQZZoHohere is my song in progress. Tell me if its shit, I need some outside opinions. Is the song dull?
There is a difference between posting shit and shit posting.
>>130116199Guitar could be tuned and played better - more note separation and in time. Melody from the (melodica?) needs some work as it clashes a lot with the guitar's harmony and a lot of the time it sounds like it doesn't belong there. Anyway here's not my song as I stole it from prod and jerked on it https://vocaroo.com/1lTZmVQUXVyt
>>130116520you're right, sounds like im gonna have to re-record it
>>130116520https://voca.ro/1ljxeMVYlRHShere is another song im working on is it any better or does it also need some work
https://vocaroo.com/1oqmhJQ3YoRpIt's more of a production exercice, I'm not even even singing words.
>>130116199I like the jumpy guitar but cannot stand whatever is doing the melody, or the melody itself
>>130116916the melodica muddies the guitar right? yeah i'll fix that. Thanks for liking the guitar >>130116896man, this is really good. love it
>>130116728Guitar work is better than the one you posted before. It's alright, maybe just needing your vocals or some other melody instrument. Personally not a fan of the extaneous sampled noises, I think it's better to add that after the melody and rhythm section. But hey, it's your artistic vision and I'm just an anonymous faggot on the net m8, keep making music cheers>>130116896Nice
>>130116199https://vocaroo.com/18eaCJaYvHHQI bought a clarinet recently and learned how to play it, here's the chorus of By The Light Of The Silvery Moon (1909)
>https://vocaroo.com/17rKFNdEoZ8wI just got a midi controller and here's the piece i'm working on. it needs arrangment and work but i'm curious what other people think.

https://vocaroo.com/1e2mq5zalqsPhttps://vocaroo.com/1oUvSPBvsrQ7My band's demos, I'm curious what yall think.>>130116199This is really cool, like some stuff, but it clashes at times, but the general idea and concept are very clear, and I like it.>>130116728I like the noisy element to it, I've liked this art folk kind of stuff since the Covid era saw a big jump in it. I feel like you're opening yourself up to do some stuff like the quiet parts in some Brave Little Abacus songs.

>>130116199I like it op
>>130116896damn, this is similiar to stuff I write, but if I had more experience and could actually write coherently, especially the melody. Very nice, makes me feel like I am lightyears away from making something decent. Mind me asking how you recorded this? I'm only able to record guitar through a focusrite and hav eto use amp sims - bass and drums are VST unfortunately, which makes things so much harder and kills ideas before they even get started more often than not.

>>130120366Good, interesting progressions. Sounds like something that would play in the background of a mid 00's quirky indie comedy.
>>130116199>>130120366They make me consider ending it all. No offense, just sayin'
>>130125017Thx a lot ! For the drums i used addictive drums 2 and a VC 160 compressor. There's a glockenspiel from keyscape. The guitars are 4 duplicated tracks with a different Guitar Rig 7 patch on each. Bass is also GR7. Both are recorded in DI on a babyface but focusrite should do the trick. The synth are 3 different FM8 patches. If you don't have a bass to record, I can't recommand trilian enough. I own none of these vst, you'll find them all on vsthouse
>>130126446Appreciate the info, anon, sounds like I should just keep trying and hopefully I'll figure it all out at some point. I've got a few of the Neural DSP amps, but might be worth trying GR as well just in case. How do you record vocals (what kind of mic/set up)?>If you don't have a bass to record, I can't recommand trilian enoughnice, thanks, I have a few different VST's I try for bass, but I don't really like any of them, so hopefully this one is different. I feel bass is too similar to guitar in the sense that nothing but the actual thing will sound right to me. Having to learn how to get the most out of VSTs is soulcrushing as well. I plan on buying a bass this year, but I'll check this out in the meantime.
>>130126625nothing much... These vocals are actually pretty lame imo. Stock eq and valhalla verb on main vocal. For the "inter" melody, it's both eq (focused on the "boxy" frequencies) and the cabinet stock ableton plugin that I use all the time. I record using an AKG C414 XLII, which is a far too good mic for what I do
>>130128018>AKG C414 XLIIMakes sense that you'd pirate all your VSTs after getting that, cause that mic is quite fuckin pricey. Thanks for the info, hope you post more vocaroos sometime in the future. I'll try to get something in a shareable state and post here if the thread survives long enough.
