Those from the era I was there were ladder braced and dead... just like the original. Shit for collectors. The standard 160s were X braced and sounded very much like the J45s.

The first ones were being made when I started. They were good designs. One of the big problems that was happening while I was there is the ownervand managers were stereotypical jews. They wouldn't pay the bills until they started getting threats or supplers wouldn't ship materials. So "we" would run out of wood. When wood showed up it wasn't dry. It didn't get dried long enough. Guitars got passed through regardless of quality to fill quotas. Garbage went out the good. Some amazing guitars went out the door. Most fell in the middle. You have to check things out. Sorry I can't give you more specific advice. The designs are good. I would avoid anything with goofy electronics.
