Billie Jean is a perfect song
For molesting boys
Yeah well listen here and let me teach ya something good. I....................completely agree
>>130138895correct and based. 2uincy didn't want to put it on the record, but Michael fought for it and won, thus unleashing one of the most iconic bass lines on the 80s.>>130140200>The kid is not my sonwell he didn't lie
It's a song about being a cuckold.

Michael Jackson was a heterosexal male through and through. But I have been called homophobic from haters and guilters before for trying to point out that he wasn't gay. I'm not a derange homophobic, I don't look at two guys or girls kissing and in a relationship say ew that it's wrong, no I'm not like that, if you are gay or lesbian or bisexual, good for you I support it.Also one of my top 10 favorite video games is Undertale, in which haves LGBTQ characters and themes.I support it and find it nice and cute and I have no problems with it.So when it comes to haters, learn to know me before you judge and label me stuff that I'm not right away.
>>130143402I am a lesbian Michael Jackson fan & I wouldn’t ever think of the guy as gay. He is just a flamboyant guy but he also always displayed lots of attention to women. He had respect for women too. Lots of people are like that of all genders. The medias obsession with celebrities sexualities is so cruel & has been going on forever. It’s so wrong. Trying dictate people’s preferences should be off limits for everyone.
>>130138895It's about a mentally unstable obsessed fan of the Jackson 5 who was convinced Michael had fathered her kid and she wrote him letters and stalked him for yearsShe ended up killing the kid and herself Apparently Michael never really got over itGood song though
>>130138895It's a very flat song, formally. The chorus is just unmodified every time it comes back, with maybe some new layers added on. There's no kind of musical development involved. Just section A, B, A, C, A. Compare that to the song Thriller (not written by MJ), which gradually builds on itself, has interesting little detours, and goes somewhere to a final climax. MJ had an ear for catchy music and the enormous talent surrounding him helped nurture it, but when you listen to the songs he wrote on Thriller you can really tell how amateurish they are despite their success.

>>130144224Not everyone agrees that complexity is inherently good though. I respect people who can write simple, good melodies the most.
>>130144348I don't think complexity is inherently good. I mean I like Arvo Pärt lol. It's the static song structure that I don't like. Ideally in a song you want the chorus to change every time to some sort of emotional crescendo. A good example in popular music is One by Metallica. Just great songwriting. It just feels like music with a purpose. Music that's going somewhere. It makes you feel like you're in on something special when you listen. Just copy pasting the chorus is a sure sign of an immature songwriter.
>>130144405I see what bothers you comparing against One (which I also like). Billie Jean is more of a groove than a building and going places song to me. I like groove songs too, but no accounting for taste.
>>130144468What does "groove" even mean to you? Do you think "groove" and musical development are mutually exclusive?
>>130144224>when you listen to the songs he wrote on Thriller you can really tell how amateurish they are despite their success.Absolute nonsense. Temperton is a brilliant songwriter but the songs Michael wrote for Thriller blew Temperton's songs away. Temperton>Baby Be Mine>ThrillerMJ>Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'>The Girl Is Mine>Billie Jean >Beat ItThriller's a catchy pop song with an iconic video that charted at number four on Billboard.Billie Jean charted at number one. So did Beat It.
>>130144487Something more static to groove along to, like what you would call "flat". Not as in groovy rhythm. Tried to think of a more positive-sounding word. Could also say I think flat without much musical development sounds great sometimes to avoid confusion.
>>130144492I'm talking about formal sophistication, not success on the goyslop charts.
>>130144492Thriller is more of an archetypical pop banger to me too, though nothing wrong with that. Billie Jean is more subdued and classy.
>>130144575I'm not even against having some element of repetition.
>>130144683>Billie Jean is more subdued and classy.BJ was the bridge between the more funky motown style of The Jacksons and the mainstream 80s electropop of that era.
>>130143269you're not a cuck if the hoe wasn't even your GF.
>>130144668lmao this nigga keeps getting BTFO and moving the goalposts
