That was a great song, fits that feeling to a T. J rock is the only genre that gives me that feeling, I really can't explain it. It's got that somber note to it, even in upbeat songs, the melodies and guitar work along with the singing just make me choke up a little. I don't understand a word they sing and yet so many of their songs get me so damn emotional.

It was great! Gonna listen to a few more tonight among others. Feeling very nostalgic, probably the beer doing its work. Sometimes I go through a bunch of those songs I've first heard a decade ago, whether anime openings or random songs I've found, and they just hit me deep. I dunno what the hell it is but those songs just make me feel both good and bad (but in a good, relieving way) like none of the western rock ever does. There's just a few western rock songs that hit me so fucking deep while j rock has a plenty.

I switched to a MB58R CMD 102 from my darkglass combo 500 for a few reasons
>better tone control with distortion and pre amp
>not using any of the effects on the darkglass so no real point in using it just for the clean tone
>dont care for many of the additional things like the app
>lighter than the darkglass but slightly more width

Also going to see about downtuning this tomorrow and put this set of flats on it then keep the one i pick up tomorrow in standard and call it a day. 2 ricks with flats one is downtuned. Came to the conclusion I don't like rounds and turns out a lot of bassist in low tuning go with flats over rounds. Since GC didnt take my piano I will trade both the p bass and casio for the 2nd rick.

Yes.
I used to think that they were impossibly expensive and couldn’t possibly be worth what they cost, but then I tried one.
In my opinion, they are well worth the money.
They consistently sound fantastic and perform flawlessly.
I’ve never seen anything that was made to any higher quality standards and that’s across all gear that I’ve ever used.
Obviously, this is my opinion and you should try them before you ever put down that kind of money I would think, but I sincerely believe they are well worth the investment and not just so you can sound like Dave Gilmore.
Cornish has a client list that’s impressive to say the least and they’re not just Pink Floyd

I have a boss synth pedal.
It is worlds away from the original technology in the 80s 90s that didn’t track for shit and required heavy modification to the guitar.
It’s extremely fun and you can plug any guitar you want right into it and it’s 10,000 times better than the old stuff was.

For adding textures on recordings and solos that aren’t just regular guitar sounds.
Honestly it’s been more of a toy for me but I can say guitar synths are certainly a lot more viable than they used to be.
If I was gonna incorporate it into a live rig, I’d want the step up from this one that can remember presets
>>
>>130146964

>>
>>130147033
I would say yes but that’s somewhat subjective as you and I might have different ideas of what that means.
Again, I would want the bigger one if I were serious about using it as part of a day-to-day rig.
I got this one on the lark because it was not terribly expensive and I am very impressed with how well it tracked and sounded, but if I was going to use it as part of my stage gear, I would want it to be able to recall, presets and have midi capacity -which this pedal doesn’t do but they made or make one that’s a step up from this that does both of those.
With midi, of course you could use it to control anything else that has midi, which is most things
All of that said. This pedal has different wave form selections and the sawtooth and square wave are both quite capable of making pretty aggressive sounds in my opinion

Im very inexperienced in gear ive been playing on a heavy guitar amp for 3 years.
I like the cliff burton, Mike Kerr, Jerry Only lead bass tone, super dirty lots of distortion. Most bass heads only put out clean tones. The bassist in a band im the singer in has a peavy head that gives him a cool tone and since their cheaper I was thinking of leaning in that direction, but also I hear Jerry only uses acoustic stuff
>>
>>130147502
Do ra me,…etc is a major scale but there are 12 different keys (one for each note) that this pattern can be applied to.
G A B C D E F# G is this in the key if G for instance
C D E F G A B C is the key if C and has an F natural instead of an F#
Each of the twelve keys has is a collection of different notes.
Make sense?
>>
>>130147513
what the.. what? that doesnt answer my question

>>
>>130147574
ehh.. no?
first off, are you explaining scales to me? thats absolutely the wrong topic. I am simply why you name your notes like that
or >>130147576

second...
>do ra me
oo, what is that? note names?? I never heard them! I google them and nothing comes up

Either way:
1. Why you name notes as letters (A B C D whatver etc)
And 2. Why in that particular order (starting from A and not C)
>>
>>130147432
A, B , C, 1, 2 ,3
simple as
>>
>>130147653
A is the 6th note
C is the 1st note
but for you it is A B C D E F G
which translates to 6 7 1 2 3 4 5

simple as
>>
>>130147636
You are the one who said “The hispanic notes are do re mi fa sol la si, they arent alphabet letters, thats the point“

You don’t use letters because the math doubles at the octave so we talked is an expression of a earlier established harmonic expression
Also, they are numbered C1, for instance, is the first/lowest C on the piano and each octave is numbered subsequently
C1 C2 C3 etc
Also on an 88 key piano A is the first note
C is not the first note it’s just the most common example because it’s the key that has no flat or sharps
>>
>>130147677
Correction
You don’t use letters because the math doubles at the octave so each higher octave is an expression of an earlier established harmonic expression/ frequency.
110 is A 220 is A an octave higher.
This octave mathematical relationship is why they repeat
>>
>>130147677
so you're saying Im wrong for numbering them do re mi fa sol la si
and it actually is la si do re mi fa
because la is the first note
A is the first note
A is the first note, read it again

Is that it?
you're saying A is the first note of a specific instrument... so thats make A the actual real first that inly your language uses??
I'm sorry but this is sounds as confusing and nonsensical as °C everybody uses versus overcomplicated farenheit only you american people use

>>130147698
...im lost, I dont know what we are discussing anymore lol frequency? octaves?? i simply want to know why you NAME them like that. frequency, acoustic, are the same here and Mars, it cant change. it is not about sound physics it is about why. you. name. them. like. that.
>>
>>130147677
>>130147698
>>130147767
i mean yeah i think i can google them
yes google does tell me something about what you said

...honestly confusing as fuck
I'm not convinced at all
I refuse to accept notes are lettes in your world
why cant they be called differently
as we do here
>>
>>130147636
Ultimately, there is no first note because the frequencies extend above and beyond human hearing to where they become subsonic and supersonic
It’s an endless spectrum that’s bookended by the speed of light and absolute zero.
Within the realm of human hearing there isn’t a first one because it doesn’t begin or end. It merely extends out until it becomes something that isn’t sound.
Traditionally a is the first note on the piano and is the first note in arcane music systems, but C is often referred to as the first because it’s the most common example due to the fact that it’s the easiest key to deal with because it has all natural notes

>the 432fags have entered the chat
>>
>>130147797
...whatever, I think the discussion moved from "why you american call them like that" to a different "the note called as C is not the real first note" topic.. which is beyond language..

I've noticed that the increased sales in flat wound strings parallel the increase in transexuals over the last few decades. Correlation does not mean causation. Your new band name: Flatwounds and Axe Wounds.

>>130147767
Do re mi fa so la to do is a scale but there are twelve different versions of it (keys) as that pattern can begin on any of the twelve notes of the keyboard (a chromatic scale)
That’s how you get the key of A (ABC#DEF#G#A) or the key of G (GABCDEF#G) or C (CDEFGABC) etc
Do re my fa so la ti do - is not all of the notes
That’s only eight notes (technically seven as do and do- beginning and end- are octaves and hence the same like C and C)
There are 12 notes in between each octave on a keyboard
>>
>>130147823
Americans didn’t invent this system.
It’s the same all over the world unless you get into eastern and Middle Eastern systems that use more and less than 12 notes.
The modern western diatonic system was invented by Bach and it’s embraced universally
It’s not an American thing at all

I'll tell you what I know. The neck pickup is for the quiet part and the bridge pickup is for the loud part, and you turn on both for the jam section in the middle.
>>
>>130147432
no one actually answered your question. it's because the major scale was invented AFTER the letters were decided upon. when they decided on the letters, they weren't using the major scale yet, and A was the lowest note they used at the time, so they just arbitrarily signed the first letter, A, to that note
>>
https://voca.ro/1ghyH6mNvWUM
>>
>>130147432
12 notes before the harmonic equivalent repeats. Western scales/harmonies are based on 8 notes that have harmonic/mathematical basis. 8 notes. 8 letters. It comes from use and tradition.

>>
>>130148405
>like the middle strings are
that's just how overdrives like the SD-1 or the Tubescreamer are. they boost your mids, so your middle strings are going to get the strongest boost. if you want the same dirt across your whole tone you should use something more even like a BD-2
>>
>>130148671
this is even more pronounced on an unwound G string. a mid-boost and hammering an unwound G is classic guitar soloing territory (blues etc.)
>>
>>130148596
putting an EQ in front of the SD-1 and boosting the treble frequencies will get more dirt out of those frequencies, yes

I loop my bass my and my live 3 into the rc 600 then send that audio into my 404 so I can manipulate the sound live. I noticed whenever I would plug my bass into my samplers the tone would get washed away. So the solution was finding a way to control my bass audio and sampler audio independently without losing any tone plus adding FXs live.

>>130149010
The guvner is a well regarded blues rock style distortion pedal but it’s not extremely high gain(distortion) . It may or may not have enough distortion for this. If not a second pedal can act as a boost to get you all the way on the distortion.
The hiwatt should be fine but a Marshall is closer to the mark.
However the guitar is crucial in this case.
You really want a Les Paul if you’re going for a slash sound.
You absolutely have to have humbucker type pickups
Single coil pickups (strat/tele type) won’t do that.
And of course how you play matters most of all
