>Foetus

>Test Dept
>SPK
>NON
>Nurse With Wound
>Coil
>Einstürzende Neubauten
>Cabaret Voltaire

What do you all think of these groups? I've always found the early industrial music scene to be fascinating. The Sound of Progress is a cool watch.

What is the most industrial industrial music?
>>
>>130167265
all shit
only industrial electro is good
>>
>>130167296
SPK is probably the best representation of stereotypical industrial music, if you'd never heard any and had to imagine what that would sound like it wold be SPK.
>>
>>130167296
Power electronics.
Or are you looking for most industrial in principles other than violence of sound?
>>
>>130167318
Actually I am not sure what I really want. In my completely layman mind, "industrial" to me is somewhat associated with the soulless sounds of factory machinery. So what I am probably looking for is some music that will make it very clear to me, on an intuitive level, why the genre is called "industrial"

Thanks, will check out
>>
>early industrial is great
>neo-folk (industrial derived) is great
>industrial rock sucks complete ass
>goth kicks ass
>"goth industrial" sucks ass

Hard to be a fan of this genre.

> goth industrial sucks ass
> yet it's the cybergoths who have all the money
> they run all the labels and clubs
> they run the podcasts and blogs
> and they assert that nobody is influenced by Throbbing Gristle or Nurse With Wound
> they made Severed Heads open up for Aesthetic Perfection
> they made Health into an Anime UWU shell of their former selves

You have no idea how bad things can get.

>hey run all the labels and clubs

Problem in goth clubs. Every fucking DJ will open up with a Sisters of Mercy song, then halfway through the set, they change to random industrial goth shit.

Fuck my stupid apocalypse culture loving life.

Cabaret Voltaire is the only one I listen to. I like oomph. They're playing some shows in the U.S. this year, which they haven't done in a long time and is probably the last time they will.

I like gothic-industrial but there's a lot of trash that just sounds like someone doing too much crystal meth. Saved this album cover for a special occasion because it's so gloriously bad and sums up a lot of that. This is more my style:

Yeah and there's a fascination with machinery. I think of it like Dadaism which was a socially critical art movement in the 1910s-1920s that was also fascinating by machinery and experimental sounds. There's cut-up techniques and in industrial music there's use of sampling. It can also be confrontational towards the audience in some kind of way. Here's a classic from gothic-industrial:

Everyone knows about NIN which carried it into popular culture but the video for Closer is 100% Dada:

I don't really like this band but see the aesthetic they're working with:

don't forget Esplendor Geométrico. funny how such an early industrial act came from Spain of all places, that's not the kinda music you associate with the country

How do martial industrial chuds justify their genre being started by the greatest degenerates in music?
>>
>>130179894
It's not that serious.
>>

WORSE IT YET TO COME ;)

>>130171775
If you like Noise Rock, I guess.

>Hard to be a fan of this genre.
The loud ones are usually sex pests so of course no one wants to go around saying "hey, I like industrial!"
>>
>>130179894
Is that not part of the appeal?
