Does anyone else over time develop the need for thicker strings? I started off playing a Strat with a regular gauge, and when it came time for me to replace them I accidentally bought 13s and hated it, so I gravitated to lighter strings like 9s but I play 10s now. Since then I've been playing a lot more, and lighter strings are beginning to feel weird. I realized this after putting 13s on my Les Paul in C Standard and liking the feel better.

There are phases to it, first it hurts, then your fingertips become hard callouses that can get shredded and peely(especially if they are wet for too long), then if you hang in there they soften up and become like leather and you can play as long as you want, and water doesn't bother them at all.
