I'm thinking of getting a cleaning kit for my vinyls. You reckon any of this will do the job? I know there's like machines that do a deep clean or something with ultrasound, but I'm not sure I care about dropping 160 euros on it

did people have vinyl cleaning sets back in the 70s

they probably just had some fucking brushes idk. I don't even have that, also they probably didn't even fucking have seatbelts in the 70s so what's the big idea, pal?

if your records are new/clean, all you need is the carbon fibre brush in the bottom right. its much much much easier to keep records clean than it is to clean them once theyre dirty. take them out to play them, brush before you play, close the lid while theyre on, brush and put back in the sleeves afterwards. dont leave the last record to sit and gather dust for days until you use the record player again. and the worst possible thing you can ever do is to play a dusty record because the needle breaks up the dust even finer and pushes it into the groove making it way more difficult to clean.

fuck

thanks for the help, most of them are new, I've been listening to them for a while though. and there's some extra that I've picked up at second hands stores that might warrant a deeper cleaning. I'll get the one you recommend

I've been using one of my wife's makeup brushes for years. Works for me. Dunno if it's ideal though.

i don't clean my records because the best part of listening to them is the crackle
though this is because I listen to a lot of old music released during the era of 78s, it's what I prefer now
