WTF this shit is actually good?
>>
>>130183874
Yeah you can tell they have more classic UK Punk influence in their sound than the other big Pop Punk bands of their era and on this album it just werks.
>>
Yes.
>>
>>130183874
Nah. This shit sucks
>>
21 Guns is the best song they've ever made, and it's not on that album

Their best song is Christie Road.
>>
>>130184461
probably one of the worst takes I've ever read on this godforsaken shithole board
>>
>>130183874
I know it’s known for the anti- Bush doctrine stuff in the first half but the second half being an arc about aging as a punk and losing touch with whatever movement you were in as a kid is kino. Shame it’s pretty much happened to them.
>>
>>130184581
Nah. It's pretty gay.
>>
>>130184461
Boring Bruce Springsteen slop.
>>
>>130183874
I'm sorry I grew up with this band instead of Jimmy Eat World because Billie Joe Armstrong is a TERRIBLE guitarist. Bro makes Kurt Cobain look skilled.
>>
>>130184759
Jimmy Eat World are so fucking good. It's unreal.

it's just ok.
better than anything they put out ever since, but not as good as most of their '90s albums.

Lots of bands have shit individual members, but it all sums well. Take Metallica, for example.

I'M THE SON OF RAGE AND LOVE
THE JESUS OF SUBURBIA
>>
>>130184759
All the mainstream pop punk acts had shit guitar playing other than MCR's lead guy
>>
>>130185013
didn't MCR come from a different scene? I always thought they were different from punk because MCR always were associated with emo, even if they hated it, and back then the emo kids and the punk kids hated each other
>>
>>130185041
Emo is a punk genre
And MCR were only an emo band early on anyway
>>
the other day I was listening to the demos they released for the 20th anniversary and I was kinda surprised this album came the way it did.

Jesus of suburbia and Homecoming were put together from incredibly awful songs were they only grabbed the catchy parts and glued them together into one song, it also makes you realize that the lyrics were almost unchanged so they're all over the place. In a way it feels like this album got very close to be Warning 2, which is probably what their lost album would've been. Redoing everything was the best decision they could make.

Also the fancy production makes it sound way more interesting than it actually is, and I do like the album a lot, but it's clear that this was the limit of their creativity (21stCBD is decent imo but not as iconic)
>>
>>130184461
21 Guns is the worst song on it's album.
Most overrated song EVER put out by the band.
(Love 21CBD)
>>
>>130183874
no it isn't
>>
>>130183874
The album that has American Idiot, Holiday, She's a Rebel, and Homecoming on it is indeed a good album. It's easily the most iconic GD ever sounded.
>>
Honestly ever song was a hit
>>
>>130185094
>>130185041
They are a scene band not an emo or punk band.
>>
>Yes.
