Which one is the best? Perhaps a combination?
>>

anyone's opinions that don't come from a "one single genre fan" perspective should be disregrded completely

a perfect 33⅓% of each other
that's the enlightened music fab
>>
>>130187198
The last one isn't always a choice, some people (like me) really can't enjoy a lot of genres, so end up "seeking obscure" stuff, because that's the only thing we enjoy. Melody for me, for example, is non-negotiable, so I do prefer, say, Ghost to King Crimson (or rap) for example
>>
none of the above
>>
>>130187219
Probably this is the best.
>>130187271
Thing is it's not about opinions, it's about facts.

correct
specialize in one genre, have great knowledge in the genres surrounding it, be knowledgeable in other genres, never reveal your power level unless you're prompted to

which one then? huh?

Someone who is a total nerd for specific genres/subcultures. Not because of any naive idea of a "patrician" music taste, but just out of pure enjoyment. Still has a sanctity for objective quality of music on both technical and philosophical levels. Hates a lot of /mu/core for valid reasons, but also doesn't bend to poptimism and isn't afraid to shit on low IQ slop.

you're describing yourself, aren't you?

>No musical identity
Any identity based around art which you did not create is retarded.
Reminder it's ok to be a normie. Your obscure knowledge doesn't impress anyone over the age of 25/not on the spectrum.
>>
>>130187587
nah, the perfect combination would be something like 60% music nerd, 20% casual and 20% subculture fan
>>
>>130187787
the hell is this 'wise chica' suppose to represent?
>>
>>130187198
i only listen to metal so i'm the guy at the right

strong statement right here
so we all should be 'normies'?
>>
>>130187198
If tou compose: total music nerd is best

Fantano is doing it wrong he is playing out all his life wrong
>>
>>130187198
Why is /mu/ always the biggest board of vapid hipster faggots?
>>
>>130188693
it's on /mu/'s nature
there is no why
it just is
>>
>>130187799

>>

what about 0% casual, i wont listen to taylor swift, drake and bad bunny, dont care what normies think.
the best thing imo is being knowledgeable in all genres as long as it's actual music and having one genre/few bands you know thoroughly
>>
>>130187198
One single genre fans are lame. Like nigga listen to something else.
