Rosewood is objectively better because it's self-oiling and doesn't need lacquer. I still prefer a lacquered maple board. Feels like glass.

>>130224508Can someone explain the pricing quality between Fender and gibson to me?Gibson>All parts handworked, CNC carved for anything less than custom shop but still hand-fitted, hand-boundFender>Guitars designed from the ground up to be thrown together with off-the-shelf premade partsPrices:>3200$ for an LP standard>2700$ for a strat ultraLiterally, besides a nitro finish, why not just get a MiJ fender clone for 1/3rd the prices? Is it just the logo on the headstock? The japanese can make tokais/burnys/edwards that trash LP studios for just 900$ and those guitars need actual fitting and work.
>>130233832https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWmewN7OL1Yget one of these i guess
I made the mistake of playing a JCM800 2203 vintage reissue thought the Marshall 4x12 and now I want it.
>>130235128i think the systems that move away from the 12 note system like 17-TET is more interesting tbdesu
>>130235122>muh jap crap copies are as good as the real dealthis is incorrect. If you want to save money and don't mind having a fake, go for it. Yes, Fender and Gibson cost more but they can command higher prices. Don't like it, get a fake guitar nobody's gonna stop you (but you'll never make it)
>>130235286M8 I snagged a MiJ edwards for 580$ last year and after some asshats made youtube vids about them, they're all selling for 1450$ on egay and reverb. No one wants overpriced bullshit, they want quality and playability.
>>130235196only if you want your child growing up with hearing damage
>>130235122not everyone is on a budget, anon
>>130235122you're also comparing an LP standard to a strat ultra. compare it to the ampro. it's 1800
>>130235338hearing damage is based
>>130235338My hearing is already completely fucked. There is a master volume, but it obviously still sounds better cranked. Sounded so damn good without pedals. Would love to hear is boosted with an OCD or Rat.
>>130235122LP standard is 2200 and the ampro Strat is 1499. Why would you pay MIJ import prices?
>>130235409i love how cranked amps sound but I cannot tolerate how loud they are. playing guitar to relax is not relaxing at 120db. but i need some amp dirt on my clean tone so i use an attenuator at home
>>130235465Play outside to dissapate the sound? It's warm out now.
>>130235473that might be fun to do on a weekend or something but i like having my gear in my living room so i can pick it up and play throughout the day. i get in way more practice that way
tone formula:high quality guitar (such as BC Rich)+ high output Dimarzio+ solid reliable amp (ie CRATE, Peavey, Randall)_______good sound
funny stuff, for real
>Fender Custom Shop MustangOn a scale of 1-10 how retarded is this?
>>130235780>'ate racing stripes>'ate heavy relicsSimple as.
>>130235780Do they even offer custom stangs? I thought they only did the big 4
>go like two weeks without playing guitar>mfw I'm actually better than I was beforeStill have a long way to go but fuck, I was worried there.
>>130235854They're not in the catalogs, but they do make them. Probably not much of a market for a $5K Mustang.
MIA Teles and StratsMIJ MustangsJust how it is if you want the best one
>>130235780Super retarded considering a vintage Mustang is around the same price. It isn’t like buying a $4k-$5k custom shop vintage spec Strat when the real vintage Strat is tens of thousands of dollars.
When you learn new songs do you just go bar by bar from the beginning until you have everything memorized?
^^^ xhe/xhir ^^^
>>130235373>>130235431Yeah but if you're knocking the comparison down to ampro, then you'd need to knock the comparison down to the LP studio which is also 14-1800$, just the same as the ampros despite needing much more work.
>>130232977I'm gonna be honest with you. I have no idea.
chicken head knobs make whatever theyre on look cheap, especially amps.
>>130236103the real question is "why is an LP standard around $1000 more than a studio, when they're both MIA and have almost the same construction?"
>>130236259According to the marketing boomers at gibson, it's the difference in binding and '57 classics verse the 498t ceramic buckers. Also the studio now has a heel carve like the more expensive axcess.
>>130236024figure out the key, figure out the chord progression, practice the chord transitions, practice the rhythm, then learn any solo or melody parts. probably start with the trickiest parts of the song not necessarily the first bar
>>130236324even that varies by model, some studios have the exact same pickups as the standard. it's basically an extra grand for Ross to throw on some neck binding, which is admittedly pretty but makes refrets worse.
>>130236352why does the left one look pregnant
>>130236372look closely, they're both pregnant
New>>130236378
>>130236352i hate binding it feels cheap. my SG has binding and it makes it feel like a guitar hero controller or something. a smooth maple neck and fretboard feels classy
>>130236352It really is good markup for binding and a burst on a little bit of maple.
>>130236352My 2019 Studio has neck binding. They just move shit around every year. Half the time the studio will have more features than the standard because they'll go on a vintage kick and decide coil tap is for poor people
>>130233832you can bend on any fretwao microntones
