What’s the deal with schizoposting?
You open a thread expecting a normal conversation
next thing you know, some guy’s connecting guitar tone, samefagging, and homosexual tendencies into one giant theory.
And it’s always written with complete confidence.
No hesitation whatsoever!
“ESL are here.”
Where?!
I can barely see anyone posting!
And there’s always "evidence".
Arrows, circles, screenshots
it looks like the guy solved a crime nobody committed.
The best part is everybody just rolls with it.
No one says, “Hey, this seems insane.”
They go, “Interesting… tell me more about the frequencies.”
At a certain point you don’t even know if it’s serious anymore.
Is this a joke?
Performance art?
A cry for help with excellent formatting?

To the anon from the last thread, yes the new Vintera Jag has a pop in trem arm. Not sure what trem it comes with but it was set up perfectly, didn’t need any adjustments. It locks and has the perfect amount of spring tension for my taste. Usually I have to dial them in a bit or even take them apart to get them to lock properly.

As long as country remains mainstream in any sense guitar will stick around
Bass wankery is stupid cause the only way to do it is slapping and that's just a gimmick

Friendly reminder: the average life expectancy in the United States for men is 75.

At 37 your life is exactly half over. If you're 35 then you have 2 years until you're crossing over into the point in your life where you're closer to your inevitable death than you are to when you were being born.

There's nothing doomer about it, it's just a fact of life. 37 is the average halfway point in most men's lives and 75 is the end.

Life expectancy is a shot in the dark that doesn't really have much bearing on anything
When we're 75 medicine should have advanced enough that it's nowhere close to being the average age of death
Also averages include early deaths from smokers and absolute fat fucks
The average is probably in the early 80s for somewhat healthy people

Guitars are basically ghost traps and you're insane for leaving them out of a case, ESPECIALLY if it's a hollow acoustic or electric with F holes. Thin finish that let's the instrument breath? i've been taking guitar lessons for months and we skipped the pentatonic and went right into the major scale and the harmonic minor scale. i don't understand the fixation on pentatonics. the positions of the major scale aren't hard to learn and reducing the scale to only notes that sound good 100% of the time is like playing bowling with the rails up
>>
>>130232776
it's 5 notes instead 7, it's so easy and ubiquitous you can sound like you guitar heroes in month of concentrated practice
>>
>>130232831
i'd just think someone who is actually interested in bowling would be ashamed of playing with the bumpers up
>>

The perfect 4 for me:
Strat
335
Gretsch 6120 or Falcon type (with filtertrons)
Some variation of a Les Paul Special with a bigsby. So a 2 P90 pickup solid body guitar with a vibrato.
Those four guitars will get everything done.
>>130231250
It depends. If you play live a lot then having a backup is almost mandatory unless you want to risk not having one. Depending on the gig, you might want to have an "alternate tuning" guitar that you only use for one or two songs, so you have one only for that to spare everybody the pain of you tuning for ten minutes during a gig.
You need lots of different flavours/colour if you're a session guy.
If you just sit in your bedroom, then yeah, you don't really need much more, but who gives a fuck honestly.

learning the major scale positions, picking a tune that modulates between 2 keys, and using your ear and knowledge of what notes are happening in the harmony is the most fun i've had with music. it's gone from a chore I have to practice to something i just do for fun, like chess

Can someone explain the pricing quality between Fender and gibson to me?
Gibson
>All parts handworked, CNC carved for anything less than custom shop but still hand-fitted, hand-bound
Fender
>Guitars designed from the ground up to be thrown together with off-the-shelf premade parts
Prices:
>3200$ for an LP standard
>2700$ for a strat ultra
Literally, besides a nitro finish, why not just get a MiJ fender clone for 1/3rd the prices? Is it just the logo on the headstock? The japanese can make tokais/burnys/edwards that trash LP studios for just 900$ and those guitars need actual fitting and work.

this is incorrect. If you want to save money and don't mind having a fake, go for it. Yes, Fender and Gibson cost more but they can command higher prices. Don't like it, get a fake guitar nobody's gonna stop you (but you'll never make it)
>>
>>130235286
M8 I snagged a MiJ edwards for 580$ last year and after some asshats made youtube vids about them, they're all selling for 1450$ on egay and reverb.

LP standard is 2200 and the ampro Strat is 1499. Why would you pay MIJ import prices?
>>
>>130235409
i love how cranked amps sound but I cannot tolerate how loud they are. playing guitar to relax is not relaxing at 120db. but i need some amp dirt on my clean tone so i use an attenuator at home

Yeah but if you're knocking the comparison down to ampro, then you'd need to knock the comparison down to the LP studio which is also 14-1800$, just the same as the ampros despite needing much more work.

I'm gonna be honest with you.

chicken head knobs make whatever theyre on look cheap, especially amps.
>>
>>130236103
the real question is "why is an LP standard around $1000 more than a studio, when they're both MIA and have almost the same construction?"
>>
>>130236259
According to the marketing boomers at gibson, it's the difference in binding and '57 classics verse the 498t ceramic buckers.
Also the studio now has a heel carve like the more expensive axcess.
>>
>>130236024
figure out the key, figure out the chord progression, practice the chord transitions, practice the rhythm, then learn any solo or melody parts. probably start with the trickiest parts of the song not necessarily the first bar
>>
>>130236324
even that varies by model, some studios have the exact same pickups as the standard. it's basically an extra grand for Ross to throw on some neck binding, which is admittedly pretty but makes refrets worse.

>>
>>130236352
My 2019 Studio has neck binding. They just move shit around every year. Half the time the studio will have more features than the standard because they'll go on a vintage kick and decide coil tap is for poor people
