“The mixing is not good”
>>
>>130225853
Literally me
>>
>>130225853
Ok but sometimes its true
Good mixing can make or break an album
>>
>>130225934
perfect mixing is boring and sterile the mix needs a certain amount of badness
>>
No arrow therefore you look like this and you say this
>>
>>130225853
A common form of this is vocals not being forward enough
>>
I think the only example I have of this actually affecting my own listening is Black Secret Technology. I truly think it could sound so much better, although the dated sound does have some amount of charm to it. Regardless, the actual musical content is amazing so it's still listenable

>>130226264
Oh contraire. Far more common theyre too forward. No way what theyre singing about is more interesting than the instrumental
>>
>>130225853
The Cure's latest album was ruined by poor mixing.
>>
>>130225853
A chud would be preoccupied with “mixing”, would he
>>
>>130226211
That's stupid as fuck brother
>>
>>130226860
nah humans make mistakes its a lot more authentic than perfectly clean studio mixing
>>
>>130225869
based

>>130226211
>>130226912
Retard.
>>
I listen to jpop and 60’s on a regular basis so I’m immune to bad mixing. It has to be really spectacularly bad for it to ruin an otherwise good song for me.

However I absolutely hate songs with minimalistic arrangements and everything is blasted in the front and uncannily crisp and over-edited.
>>
>>130227209
>i love the fake daw sound
>>
>>130226912
clean sound is not the same as good mixing, you're confusing the two
>>
>>130227387
Nope
>>
>>130226912
I agree with the sentiment but technically editing is separate from mixing.

Good mix with human performance with some mistakes > bad mix with human performance >>>> good mix with “perfect” performance > bad mix with “perfect” performance.
In my humble opinion, at least
>>
>>130225853

What's wrong with the mix anon? You've hardly touched you're music...
>>
>>130225853
I look like this and say this
>>
>>130230351
the mixing... is too polished... too clean-sounding for this type of music... there is no difference between quiet and loud parts! it lacks balance!! ... there is no cohesive sound!!
>>
>>130225853
Oh. I get it. Like race-mixing.
>>
>>130226912
the point is not if it has mistakes or not, rather than the mix has the intention to breathe more life into the songs, hence having a good balance and style that suits it, good mixes are balanced but not all unbalanced mixes are bad, the most enjoyable songs to some are often the most unbalanced and not perfect

>>130226211
there's no perfect mixes, just mixes with or without intention, a perfect mix to you sounds bland but to others it might sound good and professional, to me it really just depends if it fits the style and enhances the experience, you just need to listen to more music that is out of your comfort zone to compare
>>
>>130230351
I had some music at home right before I came out
>>
yeah it's always the elitist dipshits that care about "mixing", it's like there's so much more to music than knob tweaking
>>
>>130225853
Yeah but the mixing isn't good stooge
>>
>>130233641
tbf if the song had a constant 8khz noise that was louder than the rest of the song and it was a jazz song I'd be fucking annoyed though, if it was rock id just go along with it unless it actually bothers me, i think it really depends on case to case wether it actually does something good to the song or not but even then it's mostly subjective and most of the final decisions are taken from the musician and mixing engineer at hand if they spent some money on that
>>
>>130225853
Fuck you, Lars. I will punch you right in your pancake hole.
