There was no psyop or anything, we just as a culture basically fucked with their music. Especially "Scar Tissue", which was a massive massive radio hit. If you were a kid in the back of the family car, you heard the Chili Peppers. I think at this point their bad music pretty much outweighs any of the good. But they did have a handful of great pop rock songs at their peak. Those few tunes are endlessly listenable though imo.

From the debut to BSSM is all excellent. After that, not so great. Californication though is the tits, so that’s an anomaly. They haven’t made a good album since.

From memory they're all different
