When I was 12, I thought dubstep and drumstep were cool and the only valid music. Then I started playing the clarinet and I fell in love with classical. From there, it was an easy path to rock and eventually metal, my dad helped me get into that. And only about 3 years ago did I start listening to alt, math and prog, you start to understand it when you are gradually exposed to it. The first time I listened to Genesis or King Crimson I too thought it was a jake, but now they're some of my favourite albums. David is just a closed minded person, that is all.
