>try to find bands I lost on my old hdd that aren't on rutracker or links in the blogspots/forum are dead for 10 years>everything is either padlocked, not found or queue position is 150 or more with 20kb/s transfer speedI should had made a backup back then, I'm afraid that will ever be able to find anything again. Fuck this retarded timeline.
if you can't find your favorite music on soulseek easily, you need to touch grass my dude
>>130233425if the music was actually worth hearing it wouldn't be that obscure and be that hard to find as there would be a demand to want to hear it. sorry OP
I can't relate to this. I find any obscure shit I want on slsk.
>>130233469this. op es tardo
Oh I just found at one album on russian forum with mediafire, thank god it's still up despite the upload date 2012https://www.mediafire.com/file/mxflu0i9j1l6m4f/Astray+-+Alone+%5BEP%5D+%282000%29.rarFuck soulseek btw and all amerikike services.
>>130233447but you listen to entry level slop that is easily found everywhere.
>>130233425well tell us something you couldn't find on soulseek?
>>130233947(no answer)
>>130234485he's waiting for his brain to restart
>>130233947I already found some stuff on old forum:Astray - Until I'm Cold Enough (1999)Astray - Alone (2000)Still need to find next albums:Ibéria - Ibéria (1988)Ibéria - Heroes of the Wasteland (1990)Flash Terrorist - Body Fusion Limit (1997)Cyberhed - Face It (1995)Romantic Gorilla - Romantic Gorilla (1998)Athrepsy - Monarques (1998)Cronos - ...Și voi ucide timpul (1998)Lugubrious - In Nomine Domini Nostri, Jesus Christi (1993)Makina - Anabiosis (1994)Steve Sylvester - Free Man (1993)Endwarfment - Handicapitation (2002)Euthanausea - Melodying (1993)Sarah Winton - You Can't Keep a Good Woman Down (1993)I initially found these on various blogspots and forums but they're all gone now.
>>130235158are you searching them on slsk with the hyphen? I just seached "Flash Terrorist Body Fusion Limit" (without the quotations of course) and a bunch of results came upop tu es mui retardoyup, just searched "Ibéria 1988" and 2 results came up that arent locked
>>130233425Soulseek is great but also sucks depending on what you're after. There's a lot of stuff that's either just impossible to find in lossless, or is being gatekept by some trade-only tard who either wants even more obscure shit, or worse, doesn't even have a profile page so god knows what to expect.Sometimes, with persistence, you can be lucky and eventually have a result pop up, but I've waited months for that to happen before. Other times, if you're even more lucky, someone might message you about your collection and offer to share some private stuff that isn't even on their share list, but in all my years of using it I've only had that happen once.I sometimes have more luck with Yandex or private trackers, but even still there are so many things I've never been able to find short of buying them for ludicrous prices on Discogs.
For years somebody downloading something from me was very rare. Now it feels like every time I open Soulseek like 5 people instantly are downloading shit from me. I mean my collection has obviously grown over the years, but they usually aren't downloading obscure shit or anything. I wonder what changed.
>>130235543More people
>>130233447tripfag has to feel special on an anonymous forum. giving main character energy.
>file not shared>*block user*>*unshare files from user*>download from another user
>>130235543zoomers have stopped paying for streaming services
>>130235158u shitI searched 3 random picks from that list, Athrepsy, Lugubrious and Euthanausea, and theyre all available in v0 or 320 mp3 w/ no queuesalso, if you cant find stuff immediately use the Wishlist. yesterday I snagged an album that I put in my Wishlist like 3 months ago and forgot about, suddenly the popup appears and says its here. turned out it wasnt very good but the principle stands, and it usually works over much shorter timescales for other stuff.
>>130235158lol what an atrocious taste you should be thanking slsk for not allowing you to get all that garbage lmaoo
U fags fucked up letting zoomies know about slsk. They will ruin like they did rym.
I tried to build my own Spotify. I gave up and subbed.
>>130233947Not OP, it's rare when it happens but>Erotiques - Erotiques (1994 Smooth Jazz)>Scott Carter - Real Love (1988 Smooth Jazz/Fusion)
Fags like pic related deserve to be publicly flogged then crucified.
>>130240470just set your max queued uploads then
>>130233425most people gave up file sharing for streaming, and those people with rare 7" mp3s on their hard drive just don't have the program open anymore. Is what it is, not really soulseeks fault.I feel you though, I'm on all the good private torrent trackers and there's some shit that you just gotta go on soulseek for. Shit like skramz or emo that never got a professional recording/release is soulseek territory. I found a local band from my area's album on soulseek the other week and there's no chance that I'd be able to hear it again otherwise, it's like 15 years old. Gotta collect all these rare files cuz it's just gonna get worse over time.Just gotta keep the tab for your search open and refresh it every few days and hope for the best, might come online eventually
>>130240869also, I just searched for 2 random ones from your list and they both are on youtube. If you're downloading v0 quality off soulseek you may as well just use yt-dlphttps://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp
>>130240810It's not me. It's a faggot user who have that queue.
>>130233425It's not slsk's fault that people come and go and that nearly all mechanical HDDs from the past 20 years are already dead. We deserve it for thinking storing invaluable info in metal disks that spin at 7500RPM and get fucked by their own mechanism was a good idea.
>>130240910I have literally never had a HDD failure. The only storage device I ever lost was my first SSD which was killed during a thunderstorm. but what kind of goatfucking thirdie doesn’t back their shit up anyway
ive been using soulseek for over 20 years at this point. goddamn its based.
>>130235158I have that Romantic Gorilla album, in fact i think i have all their stuff.>>130241161Same, never had any issues.
>>130233425The only tip i'm gonna give you is to use the wishlist for those hard to find releases and just leave slsk running.
>>130239104add them to your wishlist, lad, they'll pop up eventually
slsk > private trackers
>>130235586It's not even a trip, it's just a name. He might not know how to make a tripcode
>>130235158touch grass
First rule of slsk is you don't talk about slsk.
>2026>still using shitseekit's full of transcoded mp3s.
>>130245264is this true?
>>130240869>I'm on all the good private torrent trackersRedacted and what else?
>>130245901orpheus is about all else that's left
>>130245888yeah definitely true. There's no quality of standards that something like redacted has. You can test shit you download if you want but you gotta expect a lot of it is files that went through who even knows what kinda transcoding process. If you snag FLAC only from soulseek you've got a higher chance of not dealing with shit files just because the type of people to collect FLAC likely care more, but there's no guarantee
>>130245888No. You can literally see if a file has been transcoded when you search. If it says 128kbps and the file is as big as a 320kpbs it's transcoded.
