what's /mu/'s consensus on Fugazi? I listened to 13 Songs last night and I felt they were trying to be Nirvana before Nirvana even blew up. I think I'll continue listening to their discography.
>>130239281https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzC0RNkBXM0First chunk of their discog is fucking great. Repeater is one of the best imo
>>130239281>felt they were trying to be Nirvana before Nirvana even blew upHave you listened to any of the other shit Guy Piciotto was doing before Fugazi? There's a pretty clear through-line. Saying they sound like Nirvana sounds like you just haven't listened to much shit. It's like when people hear piano music and say it sounds like the Peanuts, or any jazz sounds like elevator music. Fugazi sounds nothing like Nirvana unless that's the only punk-adjacent rock shit you've heard
>>130239336i didn't say they sounded like nirvana though. i said they were trying to be like nirvana. fucking retarded cunt.
>>130239281Fugazi is dad music the way Nine Inch Nails is mom music.
>>130239281dumbfuck
>>130239383you think they were trying to be like Nirvana in a way that's not evident through the music? So what like their outfits or something lmao
>>130239281Rage b8. Please end yourself op
>>130239418how is nin mom music?
>>130239281Yes, they only got better. By Red Medicine they become much more experimental, and by The Argument they sound nothing like they did in 1989 on 13 songs.
>>130239281I like some of the melodies and hooks in their songs, but they never seem to fully deliver and it feels like they’re being contrarians
>>130239281These days I think Nation of Ulysses was the better band. Much more influential to the post-hardcore, noise rock etc that I enjoy than Fugazi.
Ian MacKaye is cool.
Nothingburger band. Sonically acceptable, but songs are boring as hell.
>>130239336Fugazi 13 songs is one of the closest things to Nirvana there is
>>1302392813 good songs>>130239418Do we have the same parents?
>>130239281
>>130239281Honestly they kind of suck
>>130239281Are seething millennials itt aware that Nirvana is a Post-Hardcore band?
>>130239281Maybe the best band ever, absolutely the most ethical band ever that’s for sure.
