Goth is goth rock and the subgenres of that are death rock, dark wave, cold wave, ethereal wave, minimal wave, and some post-punk leans on the goth side of the spectrum (proto-goth like Joy Division). Industrial isn't goth; it's an electronic genre that predates goth. Gothic metal is metal, not goth. I didn't make that shit up. Anyone else will say the same. You're an actual poseur in 2026.
