He really didn’t have a lot to say and was a really boring guy when you think about it. It’s surprising he has been worshipped so much
>>
>>130257444
Yet you're here talking about him 30 years later dumbass
>>
>>130257852
wow dude you showed him. you’re definitely not a fucking retard at all
>>
>>130257444
He was one of the few genuinely breakthrough megastars of alternative music. Of course hes worshiped now that everything he created has been intentionally torn down.

Oh shut up. Nirvana was popular because they got a major deal, were put all over MTV multiple times a day in front of millions of people, were put all over the radio, made to walk the red carpets, perform late night tv, SNL, etc. This is what creates relevancy in the mainstream. Being pushed into it. Just as Pearl Jam were, just as David Bowie, Queen, The Beatles, Marilyn Manson, etc and etc were. Yes the music being there is good too. And Smells Like Teen Spirit is a very good and strong song (notice how Nirvana fanboys will hate on that song by the way). But it's not how you think in your dreamland where a band just releases some music and people can't help but pay attention. This is what it takes for people to become popular. And that is fine. That probably with fucks like you today is if any rock band today had the push that Nirvana had, you call them industry plants. When they're not. If you want rock musicians to be popular today, then they need to be marketed like Oliva Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter are. Until then, they are not popular. They are not "everywhere" as you say with the likes of Geese, Wet Leg and that Quebec band in costumes. Most people don't know who these bands are. Currently, the only way for rock music to be popular in the mainstream is when a genre hopping pop star who's desperate for relevancy to release something that sounds like rock. If Justin Bieber came out with a rock album, his fans would eat it up and idiot rock and metal fans would be posting comments like "I'm a full on metalhead but i gotta admit.. props for justin bringing some rock band to the mainstream. Good stuff."

>Worshipped
Cringe.
They started a new genre and ended 80s rock. The fact nevermind came out in 91 is still bonkers. People don't worship him they just are still blown away by nevermind.
>>
>>130258161
It’s really not bonkers at all that Nevermind came out in 91. The fuck?
>>
>>130258524
That kind of song writing with that production didn't really exist before 91.
>>
>>130258690
true the only attempt of something similar were fugazi's first releases
>>
>>130258690
>>130258705
Ngl the jump from Bleach to Nevermind really strikes me as them selling out and becoming industry plants. I’m surprised nobody else really ponders that.
>>
>>130258851
kurt liked pop qualities. I don't think the songwriting or production on nevermind is more sellout than fugazi or pixies.
>>
>>130258851
Well Cobain wanted stardom as a form of revenge on normies
He had a shit life as a poor hick living in bumfuck nowhere and saw fame as a way to shit on normies by saying stuff that really made them seethe
Then he got fame and he couldn't handle it, too much of it too fast.
It didn't help that his wife basically fucked with his mind to make him jealous, and he probably had huge levels of attachment anxiety from being abandonned as a kid by his dad and then kicked out of the house by his mom
His family was his anchor and his wife was threatening to destroy that.

Reading 0% of that.

Typical of lazy hipster fucks like you. Keep on calling any rock musician who achieves some sort of slight popularity "industry plant". Viciously trying your best to pull them back. And also keep on simping for Disney child stars like Olivia Rodrigo who come on the scene with top PR and all the money given to them. You're pathetic. The lot of you. All you do is copy what other people say on the internet to feel intelligent without taking a step back to actually think about how things work.
>>
>>130258851
Hey dumbass... if you're gonna call Nirvana an "industry plant" for simply signing a record deal and the record label promoting (because that's their fucking job) them, then you must think every other household name musician and performer is also an industry plant. Even the ones that might not be fully household names but have had tremendous success and are viewed and hailed as great. You must not be able to enjoy any popular rock music. Oh, wait... actually you do enjoy them.. because they're from the past and you only use the buzzword "industry plant" in a negative manner on modern rock musicians as a reason to not give them the time of day.. Wake up and use some critical thinking skills and common sense instead of repeating what you see other idiots say on the internet.

Smashing Pumpkins were a better band

>Words words words
Do you have some ai model for making bait posts

Kurt had mystery surrounding his life and his death that persists to his day. His music had evocative lyrics that had people questioning its meaning (if it really had any at all) on top of just being a much better band than any of the other grunge acts. It's not just cause he an heroed either cause nobody gives a fuck about the Alice in chains guy (rip)

Smashing Pumpkins are better
