I thought the streaming era would lead to a more democratic music landscape but alas…

your post and picture have nothing to do with each other
>>
Advancements in technology only give the working class a moment of release before the ruling class find a way to use it to push is further down
>>
There is seriously no one else who is more talented then Billie Eillish? The music landscape is all due to the industry wanting to ignore the white man and not caring what he has to say

>was “pro-Palestine” yet never called out Biden or Harris once for facilitating the genocide

>makes zero political music despite all her accolades
I hate this girl.

Fucking fake “leftist”.

Billie Eilish killed Rosa Luxemburg.

She's using the capitalist tools against them. It's the most based form of protest. She's taking their money and then publicly shitting on (((them))) she is actually the most based artist out right now.
You want her to stop using all those platforms entirely? How the fuck is anyone gonna hear the message then retard? You subvert and destroy the capitalist system from inside.

This assumes Billie Eilish is an actual socialist, which she isn't.

this is true, but she was one of 100s that year and she did catch on while the others didn't and are either just now label songwriters or doing something else.
there is a lot of emphasis on industry plants, but there are many of them and one still needs to catch the attention of the public in order to succeed. look at how many American Idol singers had attention and media and fizzled to nothing because the public didn't take to them. i am no fan of billie eilish or her brother for that matter who is, as a shitty producer myself, a shitty producer. but the market did enjoy her to a level which was profitable, while the others fromt hat period didn't catch on. there is a lot of revisionism about her corporate founding but that is the corporate music system and is still happening now.
so your argument of "affluent, connected, astroturfed" is just the music industry as it has always been. that is the game. hate the game, not the player. because the player still got teenage girls to buy into her brand.

this.

all the screeching about "reeeeee fake leftist Billie is a hypocrite" is just disingenuous, buttblasted /pol/ tourist MAGA trash bootlickers LARPing as far leftists, trying to split the opposition to outright fascism.

If anything Billie represents exactly what americans want - we don't want outright socialism, but yeah placing a 90% wealth tax on every dollar OVER a billion is fine. We like living in very nice luxury spaced, but a high tax on 2nd homes is great. Having ICE harass, detain, murder and violate the constitutional rights of normal citizens who happen to be brown or political opponents of MAGA is a gross abuse of government power, but we need a strong government to keep tyrants like Elon and Bezos in check.

There's nothing hypocritical about that and Billie is well within her rights to *gasp* have an opinion.
