Nirvana weren't really that good. I'm old enough to remember the early 90's and anyone paying attention to music knew that the Seattle scene was going mainstream, but we thought Soundgarden would be the band to do it. Badmotorfinger was a better album than Nevermind.

He's the only celebrity death that genuinely made me sad. Was lucky enough to see him live both solo and with Soundgarden and he was utterly brilliant. The Soundgarden show was the best sounding show I've ever been to. I wish I had seen him with Audioslave too.
I still have a hard time listening to his music even though it's been a few years.
