Dashboard is the catchiest song of all time and if we're talking poppy MM songs it's better than Float On.
>>130271692i'll cream ur ass
>>130272174poofter, don't you have little boys to molest?
I think Dashboard is their most annoying catchy song, which means it will appeal to his dumbest fans or people who only listen to singles.
>>130271692Is this when Johnny Marr joined the band?
AND A HUNDRED MILES IS A LONG DRIVE INSIDE A CAR200 MILES IS A LONG DRIVE INSIDE A CAR300 MILES IS A LONG DRIVE INSIDE A CAR400 MILES IS A LONG DRIVE INSIDE A CAR500 MILES IS A REAL LONG DRIVE IN A CAR
>>130272935Little motel is the catch of this album. the production had a bar raised after Good News; the build and temperament of the ballad is mature and focused. in a total listen, it's such a good payoff imo
>>130273881to add: Spitting Venom is the peak of the collection. my personal fav is People as Places as People. I ran that disk ragged skipping that one back
>>130271692everytime you think you're lookingyou're just, looking down
>>130273712We Were Dead & the EP with outtakes form it are the Johnny Marr era yeahthe guitar work is indeed good although the songwriting varies>>130273891Spitting Venom is a top 10 Modest Mouse songnot a fan of People as Places as People, i think it's a weak songI really like Parting of the Sensory
>>130273843I like Grey Ice Water>On the arctic glass...>On the arctic glass...
>>130271692Brock Isaac used to be a genius wtf happened to him?
>>130275065I think he stopped giving a shit after good news.
>>130275094I'd say during Good Newsnot a single song from that album is better than 3rd planet or Gravity rides everything
>>130271692Fire It Up sounds pleasant. This album is underrated, but not as much as the 2009 EP.
>>130271692best MM will always be the oldest era with songs like Four Fingered Fisherman Buttons To Push Buttons
>>130275065First he got sober, but those first two sellout albums weren't bad even if they were genre switch-ups. Some really great guitar work from Marr on We Were Dead. But then Brock relapsed and completely fried his brain on drugs again. Strangers to Ourselves sessions were a mess I heard, he was high and depressed constantly again but it was also fucking with his perception which is why the album itself is such a mess and why he started making baffling and misguided production and songwriting choices. By The Golden Casket he was happier but drugs turned him into a schizo. He got stalked once by some typical Portland vagrants that he had to chase out with an axe and he started believing into /x/ gangstalking shit and that his brain is probed with 5G or some shit. The Golden Casket was more focused than StO but the production again sucked and it had really poorly structured songs and again baffling production choices on certain songs. I still think those two albums have some redeeming qualities and at least certain degree of personality but they're very messy. I thought Wooden Soldiers from TGC was a really good song but then you have wtf was he thinking shit like The Sun Hasn't Left on the same album.Next month he is releasing a new record which was supposed to be an Ugly Casanova release actually but he repurposed it as a Modest Mouse album. The two singles were meh, mostly felt like We Were Dead type songs but with neo-psychodelia elements (well the second single) like on The Golden Casket (and StO also had those to a lesser extent).I will say tho, the new album is supposed to have Third Side of The Moon which sounds like the best MM song since We Were Dead and is pretty similar to their early shit. I have some hope despite the meh singles (which were still better than at least a third of TGC).https://youtu.be/qDOUb87lDgI
This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About [Up, 1996]Long-winded young wankers so insularly indie they're incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't been softened up by Wowee Zowee and the Meat Puppets, these young Northwesterners have nevertheless stumbled into their own sound. It's tuneful, so what; it's halting, even worse; it's funny, now we're getting somewhere; it's direct albeit arch, ahh youth; it's harmonically quirky, there's the nub. The nicest thing I can say about it is that in a just educational system it would earn them all music scholarships. The worst thing I can say about it is the same thing. A-

>>130271692I'm going to listen to this album all the way through for the first time, and if you're trolling me, I'm going to find you and have my way with you.
