I'm not usually one of those guys, but core stuff does 'tropes' a little bit too much for me and I like metal far more. Post-hardcore less so, and there's good stuff, but it's a rather small niche compared to the veritable treasure trove of quality metal music out there.

For me, it’s Vaya. That sweet in between of their more low fi garage sound and their more intricately produced sci-fi horror aesthetic sound. I do have a hard time saying Deloused isn’t the best though, although it’s the end of their true sound for me. Not that the rest of TMV after is bad, but when Jeremy Ward died they lost a big part of their aesthetic and became too clean afterwards.
