mf doom never surpassed this album
DOOM was clearly autistic.
>>130283086I have said that and that his brother kept his autism in check until he died
Kind of funny that the people he was mocking in this album became 99% of his fanbase
smokin that shit is such a fucking banger
Subroc's beats on this album were better than anything doom could ever make
>>130283132Interesting.
>>130282991erm acktually he was still known as zev luv x here
If you love this album you should be aware that every officially released version of it sounds bad. Even though he was given the masters when dropped from Elektra all the CD and WEB releases sound like shit. Here's a rip of the original Elektra promo cassette which gives you a chance to hear a version of this album that actually sounds good.https://gofile.io/d/r5QHia
>>130283257He admitted himself that a lot of "his" beats were just Subroc's leftovers.
>>130284913Holy shit
>>130284937source?
>>130282991why was it deemed racist?
>>130289335Idk but racist cops use the imagery unironically
>>130282991>>130283086This isn't a DOOM Album.
>>130289484And?
>>130289335it wasn't
>>130289584This, it was just an excuse for the label to drop them because they weren't making happy negro raps anymore
>>130289497why are you mentioning him? He has nothing to do with that Album
>>130283086Proof he was autistic?
>>130289775It is implied in all his albums
>>130289650Go be retarded somewhere else
>>130283163how so?
>>130289946you didn't reply to my question
>>130290003You are still here being retarded ;^)
>>130289976The "Black Bastards" in the album refer to non black people who bastardize black culture(i.e. the white suburbites who make up most of his fanbase)
>>130290057you are still dodging the question
>>130289484>>130290338you know what op meant. do you want him to refer to him as daniel or zev?
>>130289604>because they weren't making happy negro raps anymorewell they were ok with that but the label was in the shitter at the time. just bad timing. also the album would have flopped. it was good for its time but i just cant imagine it doing well except on college radio and late night rap shows.
>>130284937>He admitted himself that a lot of "his" beats were just Subroc's leftovers.i don't believe this is true
>>130290562Yes, preferably Zev, cause ZLX is ideologically a very different rapper/person from DOOM. They share nothing in common aside from a body.
>>130290096Oh I see what you mean like this guy>>130292157
>>130292206>doesn't prove me wrongi accept your concession
>>130292157>share nothing in commonthey do though. doom is just a looser version that wasn't as fanatic about the nuwaubian 5% noi silliness.
>>130292420Absolutely not. Besides a few tracks on Born like this, and Winter Blues in his collab with Dr Who Dat, none of his albums or main singles address the topics of Mr Hood and Bastards. If anything, ZLX would have been closer to what Mos Def or Lupe Fiasco became than what DOOM was.And ZLX was straight edge (case in point: Sweet Premium Wine, Smokin' That S*#% and Contact Blitz)... While the biggest DOOM hits are literally about drinking beer (One Beer) and glorifying Drug/Marijuana (America's Most Blunted and most of Madvillainy)Two different people.
>>130292824>ZLX was straight edgeNigga he talked about gripping O.E. all the time
>>130292844Yet has respectively songs against drinking, against smoking and against doing drugs, all in the same Album.
>>130282991not music
>>130293225it is doe
>>130283132Idk man. I believe the story that Subroc's death really messed with Doom, who was 22 at the time. If his brother was keeping his autism in check, how does that mesh with the years after where Doom bummed around and didn't record anything? Where was the autism there? It's an interesting theory. What else makes you say that?>>130284937Dying to know if this is true. I'm trying to connect some dots in my head. I need to relisten to Subroc.>>130292824Well said.
