It's a recording of the Liverpool Cathedral organ which is the largest in the UK and it sounds great on a big sound system.The Jamiroquois is mixed kind of muddy compared to the first one, I don't like it as much. That Moving Shadow mix CD is the first drum 'n bass I've seen in charity shops. Not one of their best mixes but not bad. The Bulgarian CD is Pocи Киpилoвa – Живeй Зa Mигa which I picked up because I thought it might be weird communist music, but it turns out it was released 1993 and they switched to democracy in 1989. Average 80sish pop, with some country included too, and some tracks in English. Feels like a compilation album despite not being one. According to the Bulgarian Wikipedia it was the first ever made in Bulgaria CD. My favorite of this batch is probably the Tasmin Archer (I'd already heard Sleeping Satellite but the rest was new to me).

Two boxes from Japan arrived with 12 CDs yesterday. I was happy like usual. Almost always the discs are perfect specimens because the Japanese take care of their shit but this is the first time I encountered one that was too badly scratched to rip using my normal EAC setup. I got this desktop PC I got from work for free up and running. Hopefully it will manage to get a good read off that disc otherwise I'm going to need to go to more desperate measures.

But I have several tubed headphone amps for that. Depends on mood innit.
Not looking good for this Shut Up and Dance CD. The rip can be repaired with CUETools and that's good enough for my own purposes. I guess it's a good candidate for experimenting further. Reddit says to use car wax.

Been listening to more early pressings since I got a NOS R2R DAC. If you can deal with/avoid preemphasis they just sound right.
