If I like those vidya OSTs, what else would I like?
>>130302007Symphony X, Ne Obliviscaris, Wintersun, Kamelot (with Roy) and Dream Theater until Black Clouds.Maybe Nightwish (with Tarja).
>>130302074ROY KAMELOT MENTIONED
Anthem trance, 70s Genesis, Vivaldi, Rhapsody, Shostakovich and KMFDM because they sound like a fighting game soundtrack.
>>130302007Ohh I love some of those! I don't know the japanese titles - what are they called?Maybe you will like the meremanoid OST? Also Sonic Adventures has a banger soundtrackAs for Albums, some people recommended symphonic metal and I think that the genre is a bit tricky, since everything with a female pop singer and midi violin seems to be "symphonic". I like Bal Sagoth and Sigh (Hangman's Hymn) a lot. If you want a more japanese feel try visual kei! Lacroix Despheres has a rock opera. My favourite song is Fiore. If you like powermetal, definitely check out Unlucky Morpheus! Spartan Army (a song of theirs) could be something you enjoy. For that FF7 feel weird rhythm can help, so maybe look into some Bulgarian folk? Or straight up Stravinsky As for Earthbound... There is really nothing like this OST :/ Mort Garson or other early electronica has given me similar vibes and the only band I found that could match the weirdness was Dvar and of course Osamu Sato Hopefully this could help, because I like your taste :) Do you have any recs?
>>130306474>midi violinThat's more authentic to vidya though since they always use the shittiest samples available.See for example Dragon Quest 11, a 2017 composed on a Sound Canvas. This is why bands that use shitty samples like 90s - early 2000s Symphony X sound like Soul Calibur.
>>130306700Ohh that makes sense! Thank you for explaining. Yeah, kingdom hearts also took it's time before it stepped away from midi, but I honestly like the sound of it in games. Also how could I possibly forget Fatalis from Monster Hunter World Iceborne as a rec??
i really like castlevania musicwhat would I like?

I took my girlfriend to one of the Genshin concerts in Germany some years ago, it was nice.
>>130307730Pic related.Castlevania music especially after Michiru Yamane took over combines baroque elements, mostly Bach but also French baroque like Daquin, Couperin and Royer with modern prog like Dream Theater. This album draws on the same influences.https://youtu.be/jA4mTMKDY_w?si=NSXaCJAtrQaaRjAJhttps://youtu.be/r7KUKpeDk6Y?si=qgvrj0jB7_R02CmKhttps://youtu.be/TUmJ4fvYIII?si=UvsbfDYFgBywJgQNhttps://youtu.be/eHY4JqzK1S8?si=n31zDa0aIY7xXyk5
>>130302007>>130306474Agree on Mort Garson. Some of these albums also have the textures, eclecticism, and optimism of Earthbound imo.
