This album is actually genius. It’s like taking an auditory edible… you don’t feel it at first and then it kicks in. Easily one of the most unique and best-executed listening experiences from the 80s.

This is actually pure trash, boring, derivative wankery, awful garbage to torture people you don't like with.
>>
Model Man is fucking crazy, I think Beat is overhated too
>>

Agreed. Sartori in Tangier and Waiting Man are some of the best 80s Crim songs.

Hot take, SOPHIE's later stuff like Heaven Suspended and the Cum remix (perhaps nu-Autechre too) is the modern-day equivalent of this sort of proggy technical autistic AMAB music, just in different clothing

the 80s albums are great but they aren't for casuals

Beat is cool. It was a constant as pre-set music at major concerts in the 80's and 90's.

I am not lying when I say NJM changed my fucking life
that outro is out of this world. Im so happy I got to see Beat last year, they sounded amazing.

Bill's setup is insane. You can tell Muir really rubbed off on him.

The album is genius as a troll. It's such a fucking abomination. Every few years I'll give it another shot, and every time I am reminded it's irredeemable trash. I have no idea how the band behind Larks' Tongues, Red, Lizard, Discipline, etc could do this.

low bar but okay
Waiting Man is kino though, especially the Absent Lovers version.

What? Sleepless, three of a perfect pair, model man, elephant talk, mate kudassai are some of the best songs of their career and from.the 80w in general
>>
Can't stand 2/3 of KC's 80s material. As much as I worship Discipline the other two are just unbearable to me. Belew and crew are currently on this tour promoting KCs 80s material and frankly I don't get it: Three and Beat have so little to do with Discipline I don't understand why they'd ever be bundled together.

Apparently while making this album, the members of King Crimson were listening to industrial music. I want to know what exactly they were listening to. I can't imagine them sitting down and listening to Throbbing Gristle.

This is a great example of an excellent A side and a horrendous B side. TOAPP, Model Man, Sleepless are all elite but after like, man with an open heart it just becomes lousy
>>
Ive only ever heard ItCotCK. How does this one compare to it?

Very very different sound. Good in its own right, but very different.
