I saw this dude around 2018 I convinced some buddies to come with me it was the worst show I ever seen. I put my bros on teens of denial and the tf remake and we all thought it was awesome then they made some bizarre stylistic choice to do rockabilly/folky (I don't even know how to describe it) arrangements of all the songs they played. All the energy was removed it was the most limpwristed shit. At some point the drummer made a joke about one of the other members looking like a girl and these troons in the crowd got super pissed and indignant mid song and will Toledo stopped the song mid track and made the dude apologize then said "no more jokes, just music" and I'm pretty sure that was the only thing he said all show to the crowd. We left early and my buds made fun of me for convincing them to come and still bring it up occasionally. I haven't listened to them since.This guy and snail mail were such big deals for all of five minutes it feels like such a fever dream in retrospect but I wish they had managed to stay relevant cause they at least felt somewhat new/organic compared to the slop we have now in that scene.
