The tone knob also gets grainier as you move up. It’s not high gain but that what pedals are for. The overdrive is the best and most musical I’ve tried. Only 20 watts so it can be cranked without killing everyone in the room but loud enough for reasonable stage volume. For the record, I own a mark V and coupe of Riveras so I can say I have gone the control/eq overkill route. They’re nice too but I’m pretty smitten with this. Hardwired is a huge difference imo

i know guitars can seem expensive sometimes, but instruments are expensive. if you were in band or orchestra in school, those beginner-level cellos and trombones you were playing cost $1-2k. If you were to take things seriously and move on to the intermediate level, you're talking $3-5k. Professionals pay $10k+ for their instruments, and that's just for standard professional quality. You're lucky you play an instrument that can be mass manufactured at a decent level of quality.
