drake won.
>>130317036Nobody's impressed with these botted streams, fwiw. These albums are still universally hated.
I was considering listening to this slop so I could give my opinion but I'm not going to listen to 46 Drake tracks. There are a million other things I could be doing that are a better use of my time. If there are actual people out there who like doing that more power to them I guess. Couldn't be me though.
>>130317094shame, we really missed out
>>130317094just listen to Iceman, he put the filler on the other two albums to keep the big one lean
>>130317110Well I'm into the first track. It sucks but a nice thing I can say about it is that it at least reminds me of old Drake when he sort of had his own identity.
>>130317094If you're still curious, you can just pick one then desu. He divided them by genre.Iceman is the "Let's do a big budget rap album focused on responding to the backlash and controversies and also collabing with Future again"Habibti is "Drake R&B because that's the other thing he's known for"Maid of Honor is the "Let's try doing dance music again since some people liked that."
All these beat switches just tell me none of them are good enough to hold down a 3 minute track.
"Whisper My Name" fire the ghostwriter(s) that came up with this one
When he gets to the hook it's way too obvious he's just imitating the reference track. Put your own spin on it bro.
>>130317143hes just an industry plant. a completely formulaic artist made for different genres but people are tired of him. his fans are like spice girls fans in 1998. its over stop trying to tell people its cool to listen to
"Janice STFU" pure slop
He didn't say anything new in any of those sneak disses. Talking about the next man's deal when you're going scorched earth with your record label reeks of projection.
Kendrick is a CIA asset and shabbos goy.
Ran To Atlanta second beat sucks ass
>>130317236I don't care. This is a Drake thread not a Kendrick thread. We're here to talk about the half jewish former child actor not compton's savior.
"We're sharing women that I already fucked at the height of my success" what kind of brag is that supposed to be? I'm loling IRL at this one.
"Shabang" this shit is mid but it's kinda refreshing after the last tracks. Like Drake's voice doesn't have all that processing and shit on it. The beat is acceptable. His flow is dated. The ad libs are cheesy. But it's also a real Drake song which is the least you can ask for. 6/10
"Make Them Pay" Deniece Williams sample. I don't like the drums. But again a real Drake track.Perhaps Maid of Honor should not exist and there should be an album of tracks like this not called ICEMAN. Then ICEMAN could consist of all the Atlanta cosplay tracks. Something for the Drake nostalgiafags and something for the people who want to pretend he's a real hardcore rapper from the streets.
"Burning Bridges" 0/10 gay
"I'm going to live blog about how I don't like every song on this album as I listen to them"
"National Treasures" zoomers who desperately wish this was the year 2016 again are going to eat this mid up>>130317383Why not? It's a music board.
>>130317036so he really thought the move after everyone calling him a pedo was to start wearing a michael jackson glove?
"B's On The Table (With 21 Savage)" https://youtu.be/ULeDlxa3gyc
>>130317394You have literally nothing to say about any of the songs on this album. Your commentary is "this is mid", "this is slop". And you're insisting on doing this post 18 times in a row. You are a low quality poster who makes the board worse.
>>130317395It's because he wants to surpass Michael on the billboard records or something like thatTrust me nigga, 40 years from now no one's gonna be listening "janice stfu" the way people still listen to Billie Jean
>>130317412Now anon I know it's really hard for you to even read tweet length posts with your TikTok fried attention span but I actually gave him credit where it was due in my posts. A few of these tracks are alright. If this album stayed in one lane it would work a lot better.
>>130317395He's been doing that for ages.2016:>I tried to make the right choices with the world watching>"Mike never tried to rap like Pac, Pac never tried to sing like Mike">Those my dad's words to me when I asked him how to make it in life>And I always said my mother gave the greatest advice, yeah2023:>Girl gave me some head because I need it>And if I fuck with you, then after, I might eat it, what?>Niggas talkin' 'bout when this gon' be repeated>What the fuck, bro? I'm one away from Michael>Nigga, beat it, nigga, beat it, what?
>>130317419im going to be listening to jancie stfu in 40 years god willing
>>130317516Of all the things you could be listening to. You could even find enough Drake songs that are better than that one to fill up 4 or more CDs. I am saying this as a Drake hater. The man is prolific and that is not one of his highlights.
So I made it to track 11 before I got too bored with Drake to continue. Better than I expected out of him. Solid effort. The fans are going to be sucking him off for this one for months to come. But remember that shitty Taylor Swift album broke records too. If his old ass really wants to make his haters stfu with the decline narratives he needs to do a little bit better than this.
>he literally made a song called "janny stfu"ok that is pretty funny
>>130317558Thank you for stopping.
>>130317566You didn't actually want me to stop. If I continued you would have more things to whine about. I know, it's a big shock when a man comes to a music board to talk about music instead of just post celebrity gossip and pictures of attractive female singers. But that's what happens when the artist you stan drops.
>>130317534i promise you in 2 weeks from now you will hear that song and go >wait it clicked wtf?
Oh yea. Drake won againKeep seeth lammar trannies
>>130317675It would be pretty hard for a track I think is a 0/10 to go much higher. The more interesting stuff was where he was going back to early 2010s Drake. I was a Drake hater all the way back then but if people vibe with that stuff then we could see an industry shift as a reaction.
Drake's music was strongest when it had the excitement of "the come-up", when he was ascending to the top. Thank Me Later -> Take Care -> Nothing Was The Same was a great run. Being a young man being forced to rapidly adapt to a new reality gave him a lot to talk about. And his innocence was more endearing, too. Drake knows this:>What happened to Drake from 2009>When all of the moments was intimate?>What happened to Drake with the innocence?>I don't think we'll be seein' him againHis life sounds more settled now, he goes through the same 'beats' on rotation. Album after album about how he's still on top, still spending big money, still fucking bad bitches, etc. It was easier to take his love tracks seriously before we knew what a shameless philanderer he turned out to be. Yeah for sure there's something special about this girl this time. The Drake of "experience" is certainly wiser, a bit jaded, but also a disappointment. It was all for this?"How much time is this nigga spending on the intro?" NWTS was the end of the beginning, the grand close of the first act. Things haven't been the same since. Kind of remarkable that he only did three features on this album and none of them are memorable. It's not like Drake can't do a good feature anymore... Julia Wolf's intro to Dog House was 10/10. But for some reason he chose not to do any on this album
>>130318062>he only did three features on this albumHe did announce in the intro that he wasn't doing features this time around. It was a stylistic choice.
