I think that the primary genre that Paramore work in will always be rock. They’re a rock band through and through from their emo days to their early 2010s sound and I can work with that. I’m a little resentful of whole culture around genre in pop(ular) music because I think a lot of people throw around genre tags to stuff that doesn’t necessarily fit and at some point it becomes arbitrary especially nowadays. Btw because of this post I checked out some of the newer Paramore stuff as well as Power Snatch and I was surprised at how uncommercial they’ve become lately.
