Keep it dead at all costs

cringe shit, but it is the result of record industry hawks haunting various folk music scenes for the next industry driven genre people eventually despise. history repeats itself every few decades.
>>
Zoomies are conflating pitchfork indie folk with stomp clap hey radio folk. Millennials need to correct the record on this now before the narrative is concretized
>>
>>130355636
Genuinely it's too late.
Neutral Milk Hotel is now exactly the same as The Lumineers and there's nothing we can do to stop it.

That's not 2010s hipster music. THIS is 2010s hipster music:

Zoomers don't even actually understand what hipsters were, let alone what they actually consumed.
>>
>>130355658
>>130356782
history is a distortion/compression of actual events. the record will not be “set straight”. first guy is right: NMH and Lumineers are now the same and you cant/wont do shit about it.

God those were rough times

Fucking zoomies
>>
>>130355636
It doesn't matter, Zoomies already believe Nirvana was huge in the 90s when in reality they didn't even got radio play in most countries outside the US and UK.
>>
>>130353674
Pretty niche and not very popular really, most people were into electronic and chillwave.

I don't care about that, I care about the fact zoomers seem completely oblivious to say the fact that Vampire Weekend existed. Such basic omissions render their entire credibility shot, regardless of your copes about the limits of historiography.
>>
>>130353674
If I have to deal with the revival of all that emo/nu metal/pop punk that the shitty alternative station used to incessantly play in the late 2000’s, you’ve got to deal with the revival of that folk pop stuff that the shitty alternative station used to play incessantly in the early 2010’s. There was some good stuff to come out of that, but the shitty alternative station didn’t play it.

Just stop listening to the shitty alternative station. Even the companies in the radio business are trying to get out.
>>
>>130357171
Yes you can dude
This is /pol/ level demoralisation tactics
>>
You need people like Fantano, Mic The Snare and Todd In The Shadows who would still have a large young fanbase to correct the record.

Stomp clap was more normie, coworker music.
2010s Hipsters were more pretentious fags that liked to one-up eachother with increasingly obscure and unheard of bands.
>have you heard of this band? What I'm a Saying, OF COURSE you haven't.

You are correct

OP is painting with the broadest brush possible when, for those of us who were actually there, the reality of late 2000s/2010s music was far more complex. First, people listened to and liked different things from one another. Yes, some tried to be eclectic for its own sake, but others were fairly set in what they liked and scoffed at anything outside it. Some liked Folk and/or Rock whereas others like Electronic music. Some blended all three together. Others like Rap/Hip Hop. And then, there were the revivalists. Rather than write a dissertation, I'll just link these fun little archetypes and you can draw your own conclusions as to what was going on at that time:

Can't believe nobody mentioned Indie/Twee Pop. Even though the genre's presence was receding by the 2010s, its influence could clearly be seen in movies, advertising and even music. And then, came the corporate-friendly Indie music you saw in ads from bands who dropped off after the ads were pulled from circulation. I'm, of course, referring to IO Echo:

It's all adjacent... just hipster indie landfill garbage. So many coping hipster faggots itt. Your beloved indie slop didn't age well. You were just part of a corny fad. Deal with it.

Hey, I was no fan of any of this shit, and I remember the irritating "METAL IS FOR CHILDREN" bait threads from 2011 into 2013. It's like yesteryear's /mu/tants all read that stupid article from David Thorpe on SomethingAwful and then made it their mission to shit up every thread on Metal possible. Zoomer contempt for landfill Indie partly endears me to them.

One of the most abysmal feelings about growing older is seeing younger people collectively believing in bullshit about an event you lived through.
>>
>>130355636
Well deserved. I love zoomers, I love young people. They know exactly what they're doing. God gifted them such insight.
>>
Zoomers ideology literally doesn't go beyond "I am being persecuted"
They have no other thoughts and no other ideas or understandings of the world.
Whore zoomers only like whore pop because they feel "attacked" by slut shaming. Nu metal is only becoming popular again because it was all about one sided trauma dumping.
""""Alt"""" Country is only popular because losers like to feel like they're "rugged" instead of just admitting they're losers
Folk, garage rock, indie rock, backpack rap, etc all had whatever followings they had because they were consumed by people that actually liked stuff.
>>
Fucking retarded nigger zoomers don't realize that most millennials hated that stomp clap hey shit even when it was relevant. It's like they think that just because we're millennials, we automatically have to like that music. I really, really fucking hate brainrotted zoomers so much it's unreal. Zoomer holocaust when?
>>
Zoomers are quite possibly the worst and most obnoxious generation ever. Bunch of snarky shitheads... no wonder their parents are gen xers.

Stomp clap just as a hallowed show business canard is one thing and that’s just an algorithm that continues on unabated but the egregious thing of all this is there was a specific moment when taylor swift was like embraced very very strongly and to me that seems like just wild or something or nobody there seemed or seems happy, like grimes had like made some sicilian defense and everybody else had to be like ‘the craft of song craft is important’, though noone had been disputing that but for grimes who was like ‘ songs are just singing over loops i learned from panda bear that bitches weren’t but hoes and tricks’ and more in that vein, charalambides had songwriting chops for sure i think but then again what’s the difference between a sampler and a song
>>
>>130366913
If those are your examples, zoomers could safely call that stomp clap hey.

That was more a comment on corporate friendly which included Twee Pop along with other assorted unrelated Indie genres. Check them all and you'll see a pattern.

We need the hipsters to respawn in order to foment Occupy Wall Street 2.0
