Goodwill bin -core

the Lettermen certainly got zero cool points for being Mormons and the fact that they did a concert in D.C. with Anita Bryant and Pat Boone in support of the Nixon Administration
>>

Goodwill bins are flooded with bad 60s AC music including the Lettermen, Anita Bryant, Herb Alpert, Steve & Eydie, Andy Williams, Robert Goulet, that Patti Page Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte album, and more. Stuff you got as giveaways at the grocery store and utterly detested by rock critics.

to be honest, the Lettermen followed a similar career arc as Jackie DeShannon in that they definitely did have a cool factor in the early 60s but after the British Invasion they just became lame adult contemporary. But for about 4-5 years they were a hip music act that played colleges.

You can find fans of almost any music act, even total memes. There are legit admirers of Teresa Brewer and Steve Lawrence, I've heard of them on Steve Hoffman Forum. I still have my doubts that Pat Boone ever had any organic fanbase, but usually if you can name it chances are there is someone out there who thinks they were a misunderstood auteur/genius.

also i don't think any actual human Imagine Dragons fans exist

Every time.
And it's not even his later stuff. EVERY time I go to drop off stuff at Goodwill I see one of his first 3-4 albums in the media section.
I don't know if it's related to his SA charges or if Bill was just that oversaturated in the market but he's just a main staple at Goodwill.

They do.
I visited Penn State where my friend attends and it was kind of horrifying. No metal nerds, no rap wiggers, no indie dweebs, just brainless automotons, some of whom even had ID shirts and bumper stickers (on Jeeps of course)

They're all mormons

The First Family is the only one of these I have seen in almost every thrift store without fail.

ID were just the Lettermen for Millenials, only far worse and stupider just because everything had gotten worse and stupider by the 2010s.

Steve Hoffman met Teresa once, actually, in Nashville, and said she was a very nice lady and that Bob Thiele's death in '96 broke her and she was never the same again.

I'm sure this kind of person existed in 1966 too, and it had >>130367726 on their record shelf.

The only kids going to college now are the nerdiest of STEM nerds who have been conditioned to live and breathe their designated career path and as such as pretty stunted and normie in their cultural tastes.

God I will never understand how that album won AOTY.
