how do I play this fucking solo?
I just can't, this is too fast, and I don't know what fingers go where.
YouTubers seem to play it differently

Better reference the actual guitar player doing it live. You can see around where and how he does it so you can copy it easier

Once you know around where the fingering is at, slow the phrase down
audacity, amazing slow downer, even on the yt vid itself it has that function

is there a term for the type of playing where you do a bunch of muted strums and hammer-ons with a really twangy and bright tone, usually on a telecaster? like the riff in naked glow from the ridge racer 4 soundtrack?

How do I desynchronize my hands for pull-offs?
Is it even possible?
I don't actually have to hit the string, but my right hand is programmed to do so. I have to leave that string and hit another one, while letting the first one ringing.
For me it feels unnatural, like my left hand is holding the note, and my right hand isn't hitting it and aims to another note.

Am I autistic? I don't have such a problem with hammer-ons. Should I practice more? Will it affect my ability in a bad way when I have to synchronize my hands again?

>***ALERT*** FENDER BAD
People be crying about fender like they wouldn't shit a whole ass cynder block if they wrote a riff and someone stole it
>>
>>130376346
Yes, it is entirely possible, and no, you are not autistic for experiencing this. What you are feeling is a completely normal neurological barrier called motor coupling or bilateral synchronization [1].Your brain naturally wants your hands to mirror each other's timing. Because a hammer-on requires sudden force, your brain easily treats it as a single "hit" shared by both hands. A pull-off requires one hand to release while the other hand moves independently, which disrupts that symmetry. Here is how to break that programming and train your hands to work on different tracks. Why This HappensThe "One Action" Bias: Your brain views a guitar note as a single event requiring both hands [1].Asymmetrical Tension: Pull-offs require tension (flexing to snap the string), while the picking hand needs relaxation to move away. The Hammer-On Difference: Hammer-ons use a forward slamming motion that naturally aligns with a downward pick stroke. Step-by-Step Desynchronization PracticeTo fix this, you must explicitly teach your right hand that it is "allowed" to leave early.
>>
>>130376346
[Left Hand]: Pick Note -> Pull-off -> Keep Ringing
(Simultaneous)
[Right Hand]: Pick Note ------> Move to Next String early

The "Ghost Prep" Drill
Pick a note on the High E string (e.g., 7th fret to 5th fret).Immediately after picking, force your right hand to jump and rest its pick directly on the B string.Do not pick the B string yet. Just let it sit there. While the right hand is waiting on the B string, execute the pull-off on the E string. The Muted Right-Hand RoutineLightly rest your right palm across the bridge to mute the strings.Practice the pull-off motion with your left hand only.Move your right hand in circles or aim it at other strings without picking. This breaks the mental link between left-hand finger movement and right-hand picking.Exaggerated Slow MotionSet a metronome to an incredibly slow pace (40 BPM).
Pick on beat
1.Move your right hand away on beat
2.Do the pull-off on beat
3.This manual separation forces your brain to build new, independent neural pathways. Will This Ruin Your Normal Synchronization? No. It will actually make your synchronization much better.Advanced guitar playing requires "independent synchronization." Top players do not strictly sync every movement; they sync the timing of the sound. By teaching your right hand to move to the next string early (a technique called economy of motion or tracking), you eliminate wasted movement. When you need to play fast, synced passages later, your right hand will already be perfectly positioned, making your playing cleaner and faster. It simply requires consistent, slow practice for a few weeks until the muscle memory shifts.

Sure am enjoying this new Yaguar. Best Jag to do it so far, the pickups in these Vintera IIIs are really nice and clear but still a little hot. Pretty surprised they shielded the cavities and went with cloth wiring and CTS electronics. Between that stuff and the build quality it’s a steal and feels better than the recent MIA Jags excluding the Marr ones.

>>130377825
How old is the most recent AV Jag? If it’s more than a few years I’d say go for it but try the new Vintera out first. If it’s from the same time as the latest AVII Jazzmasters skip it, those JMs are horrible. Lousy with electronic and cosmetic QC issues. I really wanted an AVII JM but after trying five or six and them being ranging from meh to abysmal I opted for the Olive LE V II in picrel
>>
>>130377910
It's a V I, original run 60s model. I love it. The guy I bought it from had stickers all over it and had shoved a humbucker in the bridge position, and the wiring was all messed up, so I rewired it and cleaned it, got all the stickers off etc. and returned the pickups to stock. They did it right with this one and I feel glad that I de-teenagered it lol

American companies have been stuck in the past for 50 years, always behind foreign companies or new builders that spot a market for guitar sales and capitalize on it. Gibson didn't produce a Slash a signature guitar until 1996, so Japanese companies like Burny and Greco made Slash clone guitars which are now sought after collector's pieces. It's really not realistic for Gibson and Fender to expect to go back to the 1960s when their designs were there's alone. If Fender is successful in their attempts to prevent every other guitar brand from selling an S style body guitar, it's going to drive up the Chinese knockoff market, which is already a huge problem.

Because it may have been a pain doing that when Leo was just going around taking other peoples designs and just changing it slightly. Guitar history has always been a den of snakes and assholes stealing other people's ideas and then fighting about it.

Fuzz and chorus are fun but very situational for me and they don’t get used very often, but whenever I take them off the board I end up putting them back on. Amp is dialed in for a clean I like, one OD gets me to an edge of breakup sound I like and the other OD stacks to get proper OD. Delay is used for slapback, plate reverb from the pedal that I’ll occasionally stack with my amp’s spring reverb for drippy surf sounding stuff, and harmonic tremolo is a very neat sound to fool around with. Bass frequencies are cut on the EQ pedal specifically for Rickenbacker neck pickups which are super dark and I’d rather use the EQ for that instead of dialing the amp in for it and having a super shrill bridge pickup unless I keep the tone knob rolled way down.
Honestly I’d be happy with just a tuner, two ODs, delay and the reverb/tremolo but it makes the huge board look way goofy all thinned out and I don’t want to buy another power supply for a little nano board I’ve got in a box somewhere
>>

my blueprint for when to use fuzz is how it's used in hybrid rainbow by the pillows, just turn it on for a loud solo when your base tone is already overdriven
>>
>>130380301
With fuzz for me it’s either an always on thing where you use your volume knob on the guitar and just picking dynamics to get clean vs dirty or it’s seldom on. It’s just one of those things where it’s all or nothing but whenever I take it off I end up wanting to goof off with it so I put it back on

hope you get help with the stutter anon, it happens to a lot of young guys but yeah you're right. it's wild that they don't spend the extra 5% of labour time making sure the guitars leave the factory finished and ready to play. its almost like they just don't wanna spend the money cause chuds will buy them anyway
>>
If I'm being honest, I love Fender for providing me with this Squier guitar, and not recalling it for destruction. It is a guitar that I actually legitimately like, and all of the quirks make it what it is. Nyatoh for the body, Indian Laurel for the fretboard... and it being a 60s style body with a truss rod adjust at the nut? Nice! And they didn't add a skunk stripe to it, like on the Jazzmaster and Jaguar models. It checks a lot of boxes for me.

A. I actually really like the feel of the fretboard, as well as the vibration of the body. The wood is cheaper in cost, but the sculptor is magnificent.

2. I've felt an urge to play a guitar with a sturdy tailpiece and heavy strings for ages. I don't know why... just this constant belief that I would like 13s on a Telecaster because I liked 11s on a Jaguar. So anyway, I instinctively gravitated to Gotoh compensated brass saddles, and it turns out that the stock steel saddles getting swapped out is common. Anyhow--- Custom Telecaster + Flatwound 13s + Gotoh Compensated Brass Saddles = Wow and very good.

They also provide some of my favourite modern circuitry, in all of those tube amps I can't afford.

But yeah; 65 Princeton Reverb would probably really change my attitude on my playing. I'm still restricted to a Frontman 10G until I get straight financially.

To reiterate:
In the lineage of Fender pickups, what are CuNiFe 'buckers like compared to a standard Telecaster set?
>for the uninformed-- Fender hired Gibson Humbucker creator Seth Lover to make a new pickup for their instruments, and they went all out with Telecaster options that held different bridges and the new pickups in some form or another

p.s. any Cabronita fans?

So, I'm at my parents place. My dad has an Epiphone Les Paul SL-- essentially the cheapest guitar at the store at the time. To be honest I was a little disappointed that he didn't ask me for an opinion... I would have encouraged him to look into a Kramer Baretta Special for not much more. But anywho-- I don't want to play it. I want to go home to my Frontman 10G and play my guitar. The guitar that is mine.

I think there's something unusually obvious about the distinction that I do, actually, like to look at it. And it might be best that I admit that, although I see the entry level price point isn't for everyone, the Squier Classic Vibe series really does the Telecaster and the Stratocaster guitar shape justice.

First of all, long story short--- I went to the store planning to rent a Classic Vibe 50s Telecaster, and it wasn't in store that day, so my mom convinced me to finance the one that was in stock: a Classic Vibe 60s Custom Telecaster. And in my head and my journals, looking back I just wanted to try one of these so bad...

Anyhow, I love my guitar, and I think my saddle change, heavy strings, and thin picks really suits me, and I'm glad I took the time to swap to heavier strings (D'Addario Chromes 13s) and I feel a particular fondness towards the Gotoh compensated brass saddles.

With the stock strings, I could see a use for the neck pickup, but it wasn't me. Which surprised me, because I was honestly expecting something closer to a Stratocaster neck; e.g. a Hendrix type sound. The stock strings made the bridge sound like a Telecaster bridge pickup, but I honestly found the middle position gave me the best summation of the guitar, and I played it like that. Still, I found myself casually bending 3 strings at a time when I held chords, and I just didn't like the touch of the stock strings.

So, for what it's worth-- Flatwound 13s (and particularly paired with the new saddles) completely evolved the guitar.

Finally, I wish you all a good morning!

Every time I see Destiny that leaked clip of him sucking a little penis vigorously pops into my head. As a heterosexual man I try to avoid seeing his face and I curse the freaks who post stuff like that Willy nilly (no pun) on this website.

I don’t make fun of you (bantz is one thing but never with any malice) and occasionally stick up for you when the resident bullies are going at it but when you post big headed shit like this it makes me think the bullies are right.

Offsets ruined 9’s for me, now my Strats feels too puny with 9’s so I run 10’s or 11’s depending on the Strat and what I use it for.
