I'm a nerd and I've watched a ton of Rescene recently so I'll make a effortpostRescene has always been considered to have good music, but a lot of nugu groups like Purple Kiss and H1-Key had that and it didn't save them. They capitalized on their member's charms and took variety content actually seriously for the last year until people latched on. "They got lucky with algos" is way too simplistic, yeah they spammed quirky tiktoks and were super active with lives but every group is trying to push tiktok algos, you're not gonna compete with H2H with the entire SM machine behind them just doing that. Woni started to go viral from starring in a youtube series learning how to drive with a couple comedians. Minami started to go viral for her Korean skills despite being Jap, they fucking loved this shit, every comment was shocked/commenting on her Korean. Woni then started her youtube channel but honestly it wasn't that popular at first, until they got a PD who did popular shit in the past like Koreans react. With the new PD they did vids with the other members and these went super viral. Minami did a perfect gyaru impression that had a whole streak of popular vids, and Woni and Xena did a dialect video that went even crazier. Basically Woni and Xena are considered in Korea to be country bumpkins, with silly rural accents. Koreans love this especially since they're proud of where they're born and mention it often, with Woni's hometown recently making the whole group ambassadors. Minami on the other hand is a variety superstar, quick witted and funny and just has the IT factor. This is super rare for idols nowadays - Yuqi, Yujin, Haewon, fromis as a group..they're taking full advantage of her unique skills now, plus Woni's unique rural charm and the team's overall good chemi. Also since it's still a hungry rookie group they come across as genuine and hard working and it's making everyone want to root for them...its legit just a massive organic hit based on the girls
