How to get a good and sharp distorted tone on amp sims? For me, they always sound so dull and muddy with no definition no matter how I set the knobs. It always gets buried in the mix unless I crank the volume up.
>>
>>130443699
literally a RAT
stick a RAT in front of anything and it sharpens it up

>natty glarry semi
>plays like butter @ $70
At some point your brand bias won't hold up. Jim Lill could make a big stink if tested for more than telling you that your amp is shit.
>>
>>130443707
Gonna try that. All the presets tend to use the tubescreamer. I'm currently manly using tonelibfx cause it had some nice presets but none of them come close to the tones I want. Also used cracked amped marshalls and whatnot and they were really dull and muddy too.
>>

Guild Polara Deluxe was delivered but Im at work until 5. Then I need to go to my kid's school concert.
>>

tubescreamer adds mids. mids = mud

Bought a Keeley Manis and it’s the best sounding OD I've ever played

Would you say a TS works well as lead boost at least? I have a ts clone pedal along with a high distortion pedal. I use the latter to add distortion to a clean channel and I'm thinking the former could do well to add punch for solos. I usually only play vsts but for when I'm out of town I go with the real stuff.

it only works well as a lead boost if your tone is mid-scooped. adding mids back into a mid-scooped tone works great as a lead boost and turning off the boost when the singer comes in sounds really natural. think of the mids like the center stage, you only want one person there at a time

How is this different from just having mids to begin with

I'm gonna try it that way when I can. Rhythm parts don't really depend on mids so I can lower it a little then. Thanks.

if im transporting my guitar in a soft bag on the train should i put it fretboard up or fretboard down on the overhead thingies, what is safer?
>>
>>130443934
because you can take them in and out. adding mids in sounds like you stepped forward on the stage. your sound is front and center. taking the mids out lets someone else fill that spot. if you just have a mid-heavy tone the whole time you can't step out of the way you can only volume drop and that isn't as effective your tone loses all its balls
>>
>>130444001
Well, they can actually play guitar better than me

fretboard up but it won't fall so whatever

music is about self-expression in shared context. improvising over a jazz standard is what music is all about. writing your own music is masturbatory and no one cares. influencers trying to peddle their goods for 2 decades has made self-promotion cringe as fuck. no one wants to hear your new song they want to hear your chops on giant steps

Why cant fender just lube up and loc an offset before it leaves the door?

I used to daydream about being on the stage and singing my favorite pop and rock songs while playing the guitar but finding out my voice is naturally a 90hz bass ruined those dreams...
>>

Is there nothing that can be done?
>>
My practice is getting messy. Long time bass player, so I'm pretty fluent with my fingers. But as I'm learning guitar, I'm realizing I occasionally need a pick to get notes to sound more even.
So now I'm playing the same stuff over and over with finger style, again with a pick, and once more with a thumb pick (I'm pretty dexterous with those). On some level I feel like it's necessary to improve all-around, but I also genuinely despise holding a pick.

What do, gg? Say fuck it and stick to the fingers? Suffer through the learning curve? Not like I'm aiming to be a pro or anything.

What if your sound is mids but then you turn on an EQ pedal that scoops it for the verses

loctite doesn’t work that way. you should get vibratite instead also if you read loctite specs they aren’t even designed to be used on metals and finishes found on guitar hardware
