>>130458675Righty here and I think left handed people are freaksBUT HONESTLY, I think guitar is a left handed instrument in the first placeYou need more dexterity on the fretboard, than with your picking hand? I don't see why left handed people couldn't play with a normal guitar. 10% of people are left handed, presumably that applies to guitarists as well, that's not the ratio with bands you like is it? Left handed guitars seem like a curiosity and either most left-handed people play with normal guitars or they have something neurologically wrong with them and can't get good at guitar. If you have buddies that have guitars, you should try one and then a left handed one at a guitar store. You're not going to feel skilled when trying a guitar for the first time anyway, so pick whichever feels more natural when you try it.

>>130460311i thought all the left hand does is fretting? it's just pushing the string down haha.you can't do a little tapping and slides and bends?
>>130460333You have reading troubles negro, my request is relevant to the topic at no point have we brought up soloing or "beat it", he made a direct claim about his fretting hand and I'm directly challenging it, if you can't tell the difference well sorry you took the short bus to school better luck on the chromosome draw next time.
>>130460343>still dodging Thought so, way to invalidate your own post man.
>>130460343i said the fretting hand needs more dexterity than the picking hand. what the fuck did you think i was talking about if not soloing? nevermind that, why would you deliberately ignore soloing when we're talking about difficulty in playing guitar?
>stringed instruments have been played this particular way for like 500+ years>but anon who has looked at a guitar for an hour is here to say they're all wrong
none of you actually even play that's the funny part who gives a shit. I objectively suck and I'm leagues above the majority of you.https://voca.ro/1gnFpCWvhJu2

Fender could've just made a new Squier Contemporary line with flame maple and stainless steel frets, they can legally put Fender on the headstock and then corner the market instead of trying to nuke it

Tortex picks sound like shit on my acoustic, I am using medium though.I really like how my it sounds when I strum with my fingers but I'd like to use a pick, any recommendations?

I'm experiencing a classic psychological phenomenon known as the Centipede’s Dilemma (or paralysis by analysis). When I'm trying to focus - I always make mistakes. And my ADHD brain, when it realizes I'm doing something important, always tries to focus. How do I stop being a mental cripple?

>>130460910just keep playing. play really slow and clean and focus on what it feels like to go through the string, how far your muscles have to move to change strings, close your eyes deep focus. also just play normally. keep practicing for about 4 months you’ll figure it out I promise. there are many self discoveries in guitar and technique is the biggest
>>130460941facts actuallysometimes ripping the cart or smoking some bud actually stimulates my adhd riddled brain in the right way where I feel the sort of normal-ish I get from taking adderall or vyvanse

Is it worth spending more money on “better” tubes? I’ve always just bought JJs because they’re cheap and have always done me well. I’m buying some new tubes for two old used amps I’ve got and am just gonna get JJs again because they were cheaper amps and I don’t want to spend more on tubes than on one of the amps, if it’s got me thinking about fancier tubes for my nicer amp instead of just the usual more affordable tubes

Why even play electric guitar alone without a band
I was just noodling around fucking around with techniques and finding “new” chords and I realized how much buying lighter strings is helping, I can actually use my pinky now, I’m doing bar chords more consistently like it’s incredible.I’m using Martin Retro 10’s.
>>130461366I've been asking myself that question every time I play alone in my bedroom for the past 15 years

>>130461384So true, speaking of pain, check out this GIBSON at my local thrift store, I played it for 15 minutes and I want it but they’re on crack and are asking way too fucking much. $1500, it was 25% off today, and this Sunday it’ll be 50% off, but honestly I don’t want to drop $750 I don’t have on this fucking thing, it’s a complete mess and it’s not even a high end vintage Gibson, but I still really like it.I’d ideally wait till it’s 75% off but it’ll be gone when it get’s to 50% I can feel it, even though it has two repaired cracks, a crack in the bridge, high action, a stiff tuner and a phone number carved in on the backside. If by some miracle it’s there next Sunday, you better believe I’m dropping $375 to get it.

Should I keep being an 80s shredder superstat guy or transition into a pointy guitar guy?
>>130461366>>130461379>>130461420what is stopping you from playing with other peopledo you live on the moon
>>130461122Not exactly. They are all mostly made by the same 3 manufacturers unless NOS. NOS nowadays are the throwaway tunes of 20-30 years ago so take that as you will. The moral of the story is to get amp heads, rather than combos so your tubes dont rattle as much>get Tung Sols if you need 6L6s>Heard that the EHXs are the way to go for 6v6s I know for sure on the 6L6s because I just had to get new power tubes for a build.
