they fixed the headstock for these. the firebird x was meant to bring the brand into the current century. they were gonna stay in tune, intonate and even sound good.
the blues boomers collectively shat their diapers and Gibson gave in to them, agreeing to never again attempt to make a better guitar than the few remaining non-lemons from 60 years ago

That's called electromagnetic interference. Whatever compressor or OD you're using is amplifying it to audible levels, and the gate then kills it.
Several options to manage it:
>make sure the gate is triggered by the signal before comp + dist
>roll off tone to reduce hiss
>lower OD gain
>lower comp sustain

"microtones" is such a funny concept. tones don't exist. it's a meme invented by dumbasses with zero creativity that try to force math into music.

like nigga why do you think people can't tune instruments by ear? why people don't get angry at 432hz tunings? simply because notes are a made up concept. if "notes" were real people would hear when it's right.

imagine being so devoid of brains this isn't obvious to you...

Even the "they sound like Primus" argument, which is bullshit, doesn't work. If they did sound similar, wouldn't that just mean that more people get exposed to music you (supposedly) find enjoyable, thus educating them about music beyond the top 40?

>>

People realized they could start charging near 60's vintage prices if they could gaslight you into believing they weren't complete shit.
>>
Would you recommend a total guitar newbie who’s left handed to learn guitar left handed or right handed? A friend’s younger brother wants to start learning how to play but he’s a leftie, and he can’t decide if he should learn what’s most comfortable and play left handed or since he’s starting fresh just learn right handed.
>>
>>130458652
Hated by people who didn’t play them and repeated boomer myths about muh 60s. Tons of professionals used 70s fenders.
>>
>>130458675
depends if they value playing guitar well or collecting their favourite gear. it is incredibly difficult and sometimes impossible to find certain guitars in lefties and it will cost more. however, you don't want to have a revelation years down the line that you've held your playing ability back from forcing an unnatural orientation. to each their own.
>>
>>130458652
The 60s Fenders got too expensive, so now the 70s Fenders are just as /gg/ood.

Righty here and I think left handed people are freaks

BUT HONESTLY, I think guitar is a left handed instrument in the first place

You need more dexterity on the fretboard, than with your picking hand? I don't see why left handed people couldn't play with a normal guitar. 10% of people are left handed, presumably that applies to guitarists as well, that's not the ratio with bands you like is it? Left handed guitars seem like a curiosity and either most left-handed people play with normal guitars or they have something neurologically wrong with them and can't get good at guitar.

If you have buddies that have guitars, you should try one and then a left handed one at a guitar store. You're not going to feel skilled when trying a guitar for the first time anyway, so pick whichever feels more natural when you try it.

>>130460231

And this is exactly how I know you're a beginner and likely going to cap out at intermediate.

Left hand
>frets
>sometimes mutes (song dependant)

Right hand
>adjusts velocity of pick attack
>adjusts angle of pick attack
>multiple fingers doing different things (travis picking)
>palm muting
>pinch harmonics
>dynamics and voicing (plucking near the neck gives a completely different sound from plucking near the bridge
>has to keep time, determines the timing of the music
>uses more arm and wrist and muscle, higher kinetic chain
>is responsible for all adjustments of knobs on guitar which must be done on the fly
>is responsible for the whammy bar if applicable

You are either ignorant, a beginner, retarded or baiting.

So true, speaking of pain, check out this GIBSON at my local thrift store, I played it for 15 minutes and I want it but they’re on crack and are asking way too fucking much. $1500, it was 25% off today, and this Sunday it’ll be 50% off, but honestly I don’t want to drop $750 I don’t have on this fucking thing, it’s a complete mess and it’s not even a high end vintage Gibson, but I still really like it.

I’d ideally wait till it’s 75% off but it’ll be gone when it get’s to 50% I can feel it, even though it has two repaired cracks, a crack in the bridge, high action, a stiff tuner and a phone number carved in on the backside. If by some miracle it’s there next Sunday, you better believe I’m dropping $375 to get it.
