>>130481611ah. Spam tard. never change. >>130481586I don't think that stuff will come out even if we get bocset. They'll be trolls like that, or maybe they're embarassed about some of it. I think any unheard stuff will be post MHTRTC. I'd just be happy for a home on one release for stuff like Seven Forty Seven, Orange Romeda, the live stuff and maybe polishing the old tunes.

Best album in their discography. Insane comeback.
Flametano hates it.. lol. What a bald faggot.

>>130481621hare krishna my friend. I hope you're enjoying Niagara falls
What do you think about the likely possibility that we don't get any new interviews/statements/photos and this is a "drop it and run" kinda deal?I'd wager they don't want to deal with interviewers asking "so where have you been for 13 years" or "so uhhh tell us exctly what the album's about" and just want the music to speak for itself
>>130481693Just watching his reaction.
>>130481699Wouldn't they want a new record deal?
>>130481726it's been 13 years since their previous album, although it's too early to say this might just be it. Either that or they'll be putting out LP6 in 2040 when in their 70s
>>130481699I reckon so yeah, but they're also have been pretty strict on what they talk about in interviews in the past so it's not like they'd have to answer, most of their interviews were done by email. I do think we'd have seen an interview or two trailered by now if any exists
The change halfway through You Retreat In Time And Space where it sounds like something from MHTRTC or TCH makes me so happy.
>>130481683fagtano always looks uninterested in his shitty reaction videos though, he didnt even seem interested while listening to Let God Sort Em Out and he gave that a 10

so do the lyrics in The Process mean anything, or is it pure random word vomit you think?
>>130481992this is why the album sucked and was gay as fucksandison always looked like the faggy one, while marcus gave them the autechre-like cool factor
Bocset will be realsed by the end of the decade I can feel it
>>130482256Interview from 1997: Some artists—whom I won't name here, however—simply release too much material, and often material that is merely mediocre. If they had a partner, that person could tell them: "I understand why you did that, but it's just shit." That’s how we do it. We actually produce a lot of tracks—most of which I write—and then Marcus tells me what he thinks of them. Before anyone else hears our tracks, we have both deemed them good enough."
>>130482263>BocsetWhat even is this?
>>130482285>1997i very strongly doubt he cares that much anymore
what do you think the album means? its so deep and rich. im sure they were channeling the greater power while making it. 18 tracks, 70 minutes. 18/70 =.25 70/18=3.88 3.88+.25=4.13. Philippians 4:13 : "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
>>130482357the point was the writing process. this also lines up with an interview from 2013 so
>>130482353Do newfags really?
>duurrrr they hate each other
>>130482447no one said that
Hmm maybe I should listen to Inferno again, it's been a few hours.
>>130482369It does not line up with the 2013 interview, actually, or any of their interviews where they speak on their creative process. Other interviews suggest a 50/50 split when it comes to writing and composition. Their creative relationship clearly isn't set in stone.

According to twoism, Mike has 100% of the credit on most of the songs, and Marcus has 10% of the credit on the other ones. So it is mostly a solo album.thingken of starting a "Marcus is dead" conspiracy and listening to Inferno and giving myself schizophrenia until I hallucinate proof.
>>130482692She's good because she's a musician and she's knowledgeable whilst other reactors don't know anything
>>130483382Oh and the source is PRS, it's not just some guy spitballing.
n first listen, I thought it was very good. A few weak tracks, sure, but overall it's a step up from TH. Still, I didn't think it was in the same echelon as MHTRTC or Geogaddi.Probably 15 listen throughs so far my opinion has changed to it's on the same level as both. Top-tier album from a top-tier duo. Even the "weaker" tracks have started to resonate with me.
>>130481775Fuck off.

>>130481683>I'm feeling a decent 5 to a light 6 on this one
>>130483626Why does anyone even watch this retard? He isn’t even fun to hate watch anymore.
>>130483382So Marcus is like Nigel Godrich to Thom Yorke? Or just the cool little bro and quality control..?
>>130483382Okay so my conspiracy theory and this might just be overfitting, is that it could be a memorial album. Think about it, the album is hauntological in a way that consumes BOC’s own history, the themes of cultism and revelations is a recycle of Geogaddi era (down to Waco references during the promo cycle), the release date is 20 years to the date of TCH, many tracks interpolate songs from MHTRTC, Geogaddi and Tomorrow’s Harvest.Others like All Reason Depart, intentionally blend pre-warp early IDM with TH style textures, as if emulating how cultural entropy flattens artists into a singular phase without nuance. Even the art work feels intentionally derivative of MHRTC and Geogaddi (blind kids, firey filters + occult symbols) and the font is reminiscent of 70s style home videos + the jingle introit is also basically a 70s movie jingle. Add to that, that the emphasis on deep time, entropy and mortality, (Memory death has swimming voices as if drifting out of consciousness while literal flies buzz), Platonia ends on a heartbeat kick with the feedback of a cord (i.e. an aux). Being pulled loose. And You Retreat is basically a Campfire Headphase track with the flute like vocal samples from Geogaddi and harsh noises from TH. But CH is derived from the hexagon parties the brothers used to have in the woods, the track emulating the release before death happens to be framed on the brother’s woodland parties via the musical manifestation of it????I’m not saying Marcus is dead but it would be a good euologyif it is an euology, the BOCset might be the 6th and final "album"
>>130483782It has apparently been like that for most of their careers (according to interviews) but they have always gotten equal credit in the past.
>>130483382Lmao this is definitely the reason the album sucked, wasn't Geogaddi more of marcus's thing
>>130483911completely untrue, they've given many interviews that suggested their contribution to their music is about equal. the thing where michael said marcus's role is "mostly just quality control" was said once in the late 90s
>>130483946was it not said again in 2013? my bad if so.

I love how The Word Becomes Flesh is like a more sinister version of Telephasic Workshop. One is like Geppetto creating Pinocchio and the other is like a god or machine reading the directions on how to create a human, like you would a cake or something.
woah! not seen so many purchases before for an album on there outside of a few video game soundtracks. Shame it has come in the same time frame as some really big hitters as could have charted reasonably high maybe? Sad we're not in 2013 anymore where streaming had less prominence

Listened to it this morning and saw The Backrooms in the evening, was not expecting that one track in the end credits thought I was going crazy
All Reason Departs has to be their biggest departure away from their sound that they've ever done. It starts out as a BoC song and devolves into Autechre bleeps
Deep Time (Tape 05) playing after Blood in the Labyrinth makes a lot of sense
i like the parts where the beats are either anticipated, or left up to your own mind to make them, like the ending of prophecy. i want to stand up and headbang to the static noises behind the leading piano at the end, and the synth bass creates the syncopation. it reminds me of a meshuggah breakdown or something, but there are no drums! wish i knew more about music and how to verbalize it.

i think this album along with the rest of their work are attempts to explain "it." like as in faith no more's 'epic' as cheesy of a reference as that is. the fact that this album has been such a communal listening event is interesting because their work plays on nostalgia. we are all interpreting this album in our own way based on our own memories. which sounds obvious and kind of "duh" but i think in that area is where this artist has their fun.
>>130485935"it" can never be explained, we can try and take dmt, mushrooms, whatever. we can go to church, find god. we can go to the gym, get in shape. we can do all of these things but we will never know the true answer to everything. and on the quest for the ultimate answer you end up with even more mystery.
I need Wouldn't You Want to be Free to be released on its entirety. The fragment we got is so fucking catchy
I really like how the vocals of the children 1:32 into somewhere in the future at first sounds like car tires screechingOr is it just me that hears that?
dont mind me, just doin the naraka shuffle with the homies
>>130481992>>130482007If I understand well, Mike does music production as a day job, not Marcus (I think into the plastic arts). So it's completely understandable Mike would handle most of the tasks, moreso after more 30 years of experience. In the case of Marcus, it's more of a project he does on the side with his bro, he didn't get past the phase of doing things with synths and tapes like they were doing in their pre-MHTRTC period. Yet I think Mike wouldn't consider doing a BoC record without Marcus, he's an integral part of the process (ah!).

>>130487370No, contrary to the rest of the album, Acts of Magic doesn't have any jeet sounds anon.
>>130487359that's the crying shame of it, I suppose. Although, after Inferno, I'm not sure I want to hear all their unreleased tracks. Half the tracks on the album felt like a really strong building on the foundations of their previous work and current interests. the other half of the album feels unfinished!Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet is that a lot of the motifs and production style you hear on Inferno sounds like something that'd be played in the Burner festival circuit. Slow, boring movie synths made to make millionaires tripping for the first time feel like they're 'deep, man.' I still can't decide whether it's a joke at their expense or not.
>>130487138>Nintendo Of course. Something about people who are still into Nintendo as adults doesn't sit right with me. Makes sense that they'd also be into vinyl collecting. They just love plastic. Some sort of sexual attraction to actual plastic.
