What does /gg/ of 4-knob jobbies?I assume you could do middle switch position, neck pick up tone all the way back, then blend in some crisp coil split bridge to get some bass heavy twangy sound, feed that through some distortion and fucking coom.Or is 4-knobby only good for clean-ish tones?

>>130646966this doesn't make sense. right outside my door are more amenities than you have in a 100 mile radius. i go outside all the time. you have to get in your car to go literally anywhere. you cucked yourself into a terrible living situation because it's cheaper out there. you are a brokey. you don't like it so you spam laughing reactions as if it will get people on your side. but it's a well established cultural fact that the suburbs are awful. come to terms with it
>>130646473I have this pedal and the pictured setting plus the one where you drop the rate down and crank the depth and res up all the way are fucking based

>>130647056idk man i have no idea how to tune without a tuner lol
I live in a car

Usually homemade picks suck, but I took some old security IDs I had for my job, cut em up and used an emery board to sand them a little, and they work surprisingly well. Still not done sanding them yet.
sam?
what guitar practice exersises should i try
>>130646964>it doesn't exist already. If it does, cover what you like.why would I cover the music I already like?
>>130648032Because playing guitar is fun. If it isn't for you, maybe guitar isn't for you.
>>130648045On a scale from 0 to 10 how fun is playing guitar for you? where 0 is doing math and 10 is playing videogames while getting a bj
>>130648045i agree with him. learning and reciting songs is barely a hobby. i moved on to improvisational styles pretty quick
>>130648074Unironically 11 but my ex gf was shit at giving BJs so that may be a factor>>130648079Well yes, remember how I suggested covers for cases where the musician in question doesn't have a voice of his own on the instrument?Mindless noodling without intent is no more inspired than rote memorization.I like both, being very autistic and enjoying the process of discovery while learning other people's songs, while also writing music of my own.
>>130648103real musicians call this "transcribing" and we don't think it's fun
>>130648103I would like to rework life by the drop by srv to be a little more put together with better vocals instead of the blues chugs make it more chordal with walking bass in the verse
>>130648119Transcribing is just the first step of the process, followed by analysis, integration and finally, synthesis. Figure out which parts caught my ear when I decided the song was interesting enough to transcribe, figure out why they work that way. Integrate them into my own songs, internalize them until they eventually become part of the tool kit I use when improvising. As in, I don't just play the lick at random, I come up with licks that also have the feature that caught my ear. Like the old IV-iv trick.
>>130642726
>>130648119>transcribingI can't do this to safe my life. This is beyond me and trust me I've tried.you name the simplest shit you can imagine and I won't be able to play it by ear
>>130648311it's a painfully slow process but it helps to learn to do it with a teacher so they can correct you
>finally replacing the claw and screws for the gotoh ones >the srews are spaced differently>would have to fill in the holes and drill new ones>removed the old bridge inserts>new ones are slightly longer>don't think much of it>put in new ones>they're sticking out a bit>have to compensate for string height by adjusting the saddle height ridiculously lowI expected something like this and I was going to bring it to a luthier for a fret level anyway. Now he can remove the inserts, drill a deeper hole and insert them back again. Perhaps even fill in the holes for the new claw. This guitar will be my financial ruin.

>>130648311Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop
>>130648363>not measuring beforehand>not checking the datasheetsWhy even replace the claw in the first place
>>130648476I didn't consider that the screws would have a different spacing. For the inserts, there are no datasheets of the default bridge that comes with the Schecter NJ HSS. There was no way to measure it precisely. I read that someone managed to replace theirs online, so I assume mine should work too.I wanted to replace it so I have everything from 1 set. Before I had the vibrato bridge from Gotoh. The bridge inserts and claw were still the default one that came with the guitar.
>>130648506Bridge inserts are just metal studs and the claw is just a fucking claw, no reason to replace them. But hey, live and learn
>>130648311smoke in the water idk why u wanna learn shit ur not interested in tho even if you are bad literally just learn intros of songs you like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kKoOPf7nWcand practice the major scales and chord shapes it will be boring but it has to be doneand practice within genres, classical, jazz, blues, etc. tbqh you will grow to dislike blues its a limited pentatonic
My fingers feel meek trying to get that symmetrical diminished 7th sweep arpeggio that all the 80s neoclassical shredder guys did up to speed

>>130648560>tbqh you will grow to dislike blues its a limited pentatonicshit take
>>130648525The bridge inserts look rusty in the place where the bridge meets them (knife's edge?). I thought that the shiny new one might improve tuning stability (after all, they're made for each other) when using the vibrato arm.

>>130648669In retrospect I wish I had just maybe bought a nice tube amp half stack with a single pedal to switch channels to start with and then not bought a shit ton of pedals and used the money saved to get a Quad/Nano Cortex when it came out. On the other hand I'm still fond of the plethora of pedals I have lying around unused.
>>130648726every hobbyist has shit they don't need. figuring out what you want and what you don't is part of the hobby and in my opinion trying gear for a few minutes in a shop isn't sufficient to determine if you like it. you have to buy it and try it out for a bit before you need it or keep it
>>130648251How will Fender Stratotardster and Teletardster players ever recover? Seriously, you can get a better Fender-shaped guitar from practically any manufacturer who isn't Fender. Just go and buy an LTD or an Ibanez or something.
Strat neck came and the freaking seller didnt disclose that it’s got a left handed nut on it so now I’ve got to cut a new nut rrreeee
ive never been able to nut with my left hand
>>130648821I'm still questioning the veracity of the statements but a lot of people claim these 220$ jet shitplanks are the tits. I was looking at an E-ART basic bitch tele at 360$ but going to grab one of these pretty soon here.
