ni/gg/as can't just play guitar for fun you gotta be a music theory bitch and a sound engineer to boot, I just like playing guitar I don't give a shit about any of that stuff. Playing guitar is a gentleman's hobby, mastering guitar is a sign of a life wasted.

Honesty he’s not my kind of music but he’s been my dad’s favorite guitarist since he was like 16 and he really wanted to go so I went with him, but man it was a really great show. His backing band is great. I am turbo autistic about out of tune or out of key wrong notes and this show was like 2.5 hours of endless shredding and not a single nails on a chalkboard bad note from him the entire time. We got a couple picks from him which to me is neat but to my dad being a junkie for his stuff he was super stoked about that

There are a lot of pretty good Yngwie clones. Check out Katsu Ohta:

Also Greg Howe can do the Neoclassical thing even though he was more of a Van Halen style party rock guy who went hard into Fusion:

Not intending to denigrate Yngwie at all though. Just attempting to expand horizons.

What does /gg/ of 4-knob jobbies?

I assume you could do middle switch position, neck pick up tone all the way back, then blend in some crisp coil split bridge to get some bass heavy twangy sound, feed that through some distortion and fucking coom.

Or is 4-knobby only good for clean-ish tones?

I was thinking that playing something perfectly every time is not for me, I'm not a robot, I make mistakes and I have adhd, replaying it over and over again makes no sense, it's truly frustratingm like why am I even trying when i can simply press a button on yt and will play the song for me? i believe that repeating the same thing is the definition of insanity, how many times do I have to repat one single piece of a song to get it perfectly? like more than 1000 times? and there are millions of songs and hundrends of songs i'd like to play
it doesn't make sense, and I won't be able to play it better than the original guitarists

I know a few guys who like to make their own music, and it sucks, no-one gives a fuck about "music" if you have nothing to say and if you can't sing. And covers are lame, no-one likes covers. Except for a few famous covers like word up! by Korn for example

>>130648079
Well yes, remember how I suggested covers for cases where the musician in question doesn't have a voice of his own on the instrument?
Mindless noodling without intent is no more inspired than rote memorization.
I like both, being very autistic and enjoying the process of discovery while learning other people's songs, while also writing music of my own.
>>
>>130648103
real musicians call this "transcribing" and we don't think it's fun
>>
>>130648103
I would like to rework life by the drop by srv to be a little more put together with better vocals instead of the blues chugs make it more chordal with walking bass in the verse
>>
>>130648119
Transcribing is just the first step of the process, followed by analysis, integration and finally, synthesis. Figure out which parts caught my ear when I decided the song was interesting enough to transcribe, figure out why they work that way. Integrate them into my own songs, internalize them until they eventually become part of the tool kit I use when improvising. As in, I don't just play the lick at random, I come up with licks that also have the feature that caught my ear. Like the old IV-iv trick.

>finally replacing the claw and screws for the gotoh ones
>the srews are spaced differently
>would have to fill in the holes and drill new ones

>removed the old bridge inserts
>new ones are slightly longer
>don't think much of it
>put in new ones
>they're sticking out a bit
>have to compensate for string height by adjusting the saddle height ridiculously low

I expected something like this and I was going to bring it to a luthier for a fret level anyway. Now he can remove the inserts, drill a deeper hole and insert them back again. Perhaps even fill in the holes for the new claw. This guitar will be my financial ruin.

I didn't consider that the screws would have a different spacing. For the inserts, there are no datasheets of the default bridge that comes with the Schecter NJ HSS. There was no way to measure it precisely. I read that someone managed to replace theirs online, so I assume mine should work too.

I wanted to replace it so I have everything from 1 set. Before I had the vibrato bridge from Gotoh. The bridge inserts and claw were still the default one that came with the guitar.
