Can't decide which color i like more. Yellow looks better with the maple neck. Just looks like it belongs. Red itself is sort of cooler. Everyone says they both look crazy IRL and pictures don't capture the colors, but none of the stores nearby have any of them in showrooms just 3 day delivery from the central warehouse.

Guess it's a good thing you're challenging yourself to play stuff that's clearly beyond your current skill level. That's a great way to get better, but it can be very demoralizing if you keep hitting your head against the wall without seeing any results quickly. So lower the difficulty and learn some easier stuff too.

I believe you're in drop C so you can try playing SOAD and stuff like that. If you have another guitar in standard tuning try practicing some 0-3-5 too. I know it's a meme, but practice is practice.

Honestly just save up your allowance and buy an hx stomp. It's every effect and every amp. Alternatively you could buy a cheap audio interface like a U-PHORIA UMC202HD then pirate modeling software. Should be like $90 and it's a decent audio interface. If you need cheap headphones get some iem kzs or moondrops on ali express. Should be $6-30.

Both just need a bunch of money in repairs. Old guitar will need a refret, new nut, new wiring/jack , bridge fixed, neck reset, new pots. Amp will need a bunch of replacement caps and resistors, often tubes.

>>130651686
Old acoustic will need new frets, nee nut, neck reset, top repair, bracing repair. That is unless you buy any of these already fixed and pay through the nose.

ive played a million guitars and i can tell you they are not all built the same, but the price tag simply narrows the search. That silverburst V i spent 6 grand on wasn’t worth a good squire, but the SG i had a while back was better than either. Its a case to case basis

I have some 875s and some beckmans. It's really not that bad. That's why I wouldn't get a gibson. I like the L00 a lot but their consistency just isn't there. I really don't like the look of any of their electrics desu. I think the hummingbird is kind of cool. But when you buy a martin or taylor or yamaha you can be confident it will be good. With electrics that's what I like about prs. I've never picked one up that just felt shitty like with all the other brands. Even the $500 ses feel good. Guitars in the Baroque and Renaissance era had 8, sometimes 9 strings. The 6 string guitar is a simplified version of a once great instrument, built for the educated greats, and is designed for plebeians and commoners. It represents the destruction of something on high, of white excellence, whereas the 6 string guitar represents niggerification, and was even made popular by a nigger, Hendrix.

I play 8 and 9 string electric guitars because I remember tradition. Do you?

For sound? The note separation is the biggest thing. You can easily hear each individual note, they don't get muddied up anywhere. For feel the necks are great, the bridges are great, the radius is great, the scale length is great. And the build quality is meticulous even on their cheap guitars.

Well there's the vela but it's $2150. Unless you get the flat satin version which is $1800. The red one of those looks sick. The problem with it is the oil from your arm will make it shiny where your right forearm sits. This one is nitro finished. They also have some normal shred super strat bodies but they're ~$3000, and they have the new nf53 tele style ones but the se is $1000 and the real one is ~$3000. The se one is also routed differently and has a way bigger pickguard. The doghair finish on those ones looks incredible in person but doesn't photograph well. It's like a transparent depth thing in person that looks really cool. The vela is probably my favorite but I like offset guitars.

it's entirely a formative thing. it's not genetic. if you have singers in your family you don't have a lot of motivation as a kid to sing - it doesn't make you unique or special, and you'll always be playing catchup with the others. so you gravitate towards greener pastures. it's natural
i'm in the same boat, my sister is a trained singer and i never got any support because it would be stepping on "her" thing. but i'm just autistic enough to vocal stim more often than she practices so i ended up a better singer

They are great guitars at their price point. Nice fretwork and super fast and playable neck. The satin neck finish is my favorite and best feeling of all my guitars. Great trem if you are into that. Very comfortable and light. It's fun to play. The only place it lacks is the pickups IMO. They are average to good, depending on the styles you play. There's nothing wrong with the pentatonic scale but you should know every position and when to mix between minor and major. Once you have that outline it helps when learning other modes and scales because you're just adding and moving a note here or there to existing known scale patterns. Just don't only ever learn the a minor pentatonic shape and that's it.
>>
>>130656870
MODS THIS GUY PROMOTES FINGERING A MINOR
>>
>>130656870
I only know A minor what are the benefits of learning the other ones
>>
>>130656870
this is such a backwards way of learning about it. you only need to learn one diatonic scale. the minor scale and the major scale use the same pattern. i think starting with the pentatonic and learning how to add more notes to make it major/minor whatever is actually just making things harder for you
>>
>>130656938
If you get used to, say, the minor scale and all of its implications (passing tones, where to land), and then expect to be able to play that over the relative major key, you're in for a nasty surprise. Yes, A minor and C major use the same notes, but they emphasize different ones.
>>
>>130656955
right but learning them as different scales isn't doing yourself any favors. you learn one scale, all the positions of that scale, and then you target different notes within that scale. you need to learn where the chord tones are as the chord progression moves anyway
>>
>>130656966
Or you simply start with e.g. minor pentatonic, realize that for the other modes of the minor scale, you simply need to add the 2 and 6 in any combination of major or minor, and move on with your life. Then learn major pentatonic, realize that you just have to add the 4 and 7 (perfect/agumented and minor/major, respectively) for the other major modes, and move on with your life.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't jazz start out as expressive music? I think that the American music education system is putting way too much emphasis on the academic study of the style, which in turn led to descriptivist tendencies in the educated elite who now try to gatekeep the genre for themselves. It's basically Americans copying the treatment of European classical music in academia in an attempt to be taken seriously as a culture.
>>
>>130657246
most jazz players are thinking about what they play. they are about intelligence rather than heartfelt playing. overthinking the music ruins it. unfortunately many styles of jazz are about being tryhard intellects rather than heartfelt music.
>>
>>130657261
yes that's what i love about jazz and blues. it's about individuals expressing themselves in a shared harmonic context. it's just a platform for everyone to solo. jazz i think is just a lot wider and varietal than blues
>>
>>130657272
Listen to Gillespie, Count Basie, Coltrane, Armstrong etc and tell me honestly they're being intellectual about their music instead of expressing themselves.
Jazz is experimentation. Jazz is expression. Jazz is questioning whether the established rules can be broken, and how.

i think we're looking for the same thing then. i don't like overly complex jazz lines either, but i don't shy away from weird or unfamiliar harmony which is the main difference between jazz and blues. you can have a non-traditional harmony that paves the way for beautiful melodic lines that you just don't get in a 12 bar blues

brother jazz has been academic horseshit now for longer than it had even existed when those guys were alive
>>
>>130657322
Those jazz greats are the greats because they showed us what jazz is. It's not a bunch of standards, it's not established harmony, it's not a set of scales; it's a way of playing. Normies forgetting this is not a valid reason for changing the definition of what jazz is. Just as rock is still about partying and being energetic, even though the mainstream rockers of today are all teetotaling bitches, and punk isn't about conforming to societal expectations even if a lot of people proclaiming to be punk are trying to police other people's thoughts.

That's why I feel the need to remind people of what jazz means.
The academic horseshit that's being labeled as jazz ain't it.

Most jazz tunes have one or two ideas they are trying to express. They are tiny and simple. Learning a new tune teaches you those ideas. If you don't think that is fun, I don't think you enjoy music. Maybe you enjoy performing.

Mine has a weird problem where the firsgt loop wont work, and sometimes I miss the volume pedal on the RC 300 that was built in. But it's a pretty great looper, the Ins and Outs options are great, like in my videos and stuff Im recording all the audio sometimes through the RC-600, the groovebox, the mic and the guitar. There are ways to set it up so that certain inputs wont record in the loop if ur running backing tracks through it and likewise you can send signals to different outs. I don't use the special effects that much that are built in, but I have used em and they are good. It's easier if you have different switches for external controls like a volume pedal on the expression or just switches to active stuff. I had mine with some midi switches set up when i got it, but i havent been as into looping lately and nowadays just use it to jam sometimes. Ive heard good things about the Boomerang looper too though never tried it, and the EHX Grand Canyon has a 1y6 minute looper that I love if you only need one loop and want a delay too (you can use them seperatly or togther). I like that one because it has a knob that controls the fade out rate of you over dubs, so you can crank that and loop over yourself to infinity, Though I think I saw a similar control in the RC-600.

I actually am open to suggestions if anyone has any ideas about how I could mount all that or build a board that would give me the same power in a live setting.
>>
>>130658224
can you switch between different tracks in real time? basically what i'm looking for is to put rhythm on one track and lead on the other, then switch back and forth like i have a jam partner and we're trading rhythm and lead
>>
>>130658242
im not sure if i understand, do you want the tracks to stop and start to switch them? That's basically how i would do it. There's probably a better way but honestly I'm not sure how. For as much looping as I do I keep my looper set in free time so that it all just goes when I hit the buttons cause that's how i started doing it when i had the rc1. Some people have em set to record a specific amount of bars when they hit different loops.
>>
>>130658274
how i picture it is there's a master loop that repeats every X bars. there are multiple tracks following the master loop that also repeat every X bars. you can turn any track on or off and they stay in sync.

that would let me transition to different song sections or like i was saying before trade rhythm and lead with the looper like a jam partner
>>
>>130658300
yeah so you basically want tracks that you can mute and have stay going. I'm not exactly sure how to do that but we could try to find out
>>
>>130658128
You have got to be taking the piss. Luv me a good epiphone and digitech pedal but could've skipped the pedals and just got a nano cortex or something anon.

Lol I like the way you put it all into a frontman 10w and daisy chained the power strips. Very funny. 15 different boss items is also crazy

buy a modeler and an external switch board.
