What's your town music scene like?
>>131086948cover bands and boomer metal abundance of venues but very very few original bands
>>131086948my town is 800 people
I wouldn't call it shit. I say more like festering raw sewage.
>>131087010thats extremely sad anon. dying town? everyone leavin for the big city?
My brother's old highschool friend is in a cover band and he gets booked regularly for things downtown. Also my neighbor plays in a swedish band and gets checks from a record label his band is signed to. I've gotten his checks in my mail box in recent months. I could see through the envelope and it was a $38 check.
>>131086948Chicago's DIY scene is really good imo but it's super noise/punk leaning. Anytime there's a big DIY gig that everybody's talking about the headliner is usually a noisy weirdo rock band. I was really into it when I first moved here but I'm pretty sick of it now. There is enough variety though where you can avoid that shit for a bit. There's a decent underground rave scene too. Still a decent amount of DIY venues and there's bars and mid-level venues that will book real local support for touring bands. I think it's about as good as it can get without having to live in LA or NYC

>>131086993Boomercore cover shit is basically every town's music scene when you're not living in a large or hip city.
>>131086948Shit metalcore, very archaic and dated hardcore bands, a Salem rip off that has some buzz, bar bands that do Springsteen worship well enough. The best thing going on is the noise and drone dudes
