>>131108021>super sonicBased but why have 3 overdrives then
>>131108036I don't
I love this guitar bros, number 2 after my Tele
Learned Float On by Modest Mouse
>>131108116finally, a decent post
>>131108116what the hell is going on with that bridge
>>131108203he's got one of them aftermarket disastery bridges
i don't respect a guitar collection where all the guitars are from the same brand, like what the fuck are you doing, trying to get sponsored?
>>131108237You want a guitar you get a Gibson, if you can't afford it you get a Fender. Those are the only guitar brands that should be in your collection. No one needs headless guitar crap, no real music has been made on that
>>131108274get a load of this boomer everybody.
https://voca.ro/1ehgYXEFPNJn
>>131108222that thing is a fucking abomination ngl. can't believe someone would pay money to ruin their guitar
>>131108165Decent how, it’s just a dumb blogpost about my Rick >>131108203Mastery bridge, I got the guitar used and it was already there and I don’t think I’ll bother buying a regular bridge to replace it. People online say it makes the guitar sound brighter and it does sound brighter than my other Rick but I attribute that more to the different sounds of this being a semi hollow and the other a solid body
the tone pot and the volume pot are toan goblins
>>131108416dunno if i'd consider a picture of your guitar a blog post. a blog post is more like a full paragraph of someone waffling about what gear they're thinking of buying, and what happened at guitar center or something like that.
>>131107846no this chinese company nobody has heard of just has an infinite marketing budget for shills
>>131108416it's like just such a different vibe from the rest of the guitar, like ricks are flower power 60's hippies and the brige is recovered salvage from a blown up terminator robot.
>>131107846https://youtu.be/NfR9FWiNjjM?t=855
>>131108616The factory bridge is fine but also not the best, they normally have a cover which makes palm muting doable still but the strings are much more picky on where your palm needs to be but if you take the cover off the saddles are very sharp. I ended up taking a file to the outer edges. Rickenbacker sells the bridges for like $80, I’ve thought about buying one to replace it and sell the Mastery but I’m so lazy and setting up that bridge is a bit of a pain. It’s already on the guitar and it’s fine, I don’t care enough to swap it out >flower power 60's hippiesThey’re way more versatile than they get credit for
>>131108754How do you even play those guitars? Tried a regular one and short scale Rick and the nut width is tiny. Its like playing a Squier Mustang for sounds I can just get close to with a Gretsch.Seemed like a boomer prop guitar.
>>131108789>is that .040" less than I'm used to?! I'm literally going insane!!!!?!?!!!?!!
>>131108789I like thin nuts and small frets. Vintage spec Fender necks are some of my favorite necks and these are basically vintage spec Fender necks at the nut but with a 10 inch radius. The weird thing about Rick necks is they don’t taper out very much, at the 12th fret they’re thinner than vintage Fender spec and that’s where it takes getting used to. I love thin nuts and small frets and these are right up my alley
What if Ibanez is what I want
>No one needs headless guitar crap, no real music has been made on thatWhite boys in this thread are embarrassing. Stick to your lifestyle brand, fgt
>>131108898if allan holdsworth posted a vocaroo here anons would rinse him for itpeople are lil nigger insecure nitpicking faggot bitches herewell not everyone but a sizable minority
>>131108898I used to play in a band with an old Filipino dude who played an old headless Steinberger bass and that thing was super cool but I don’t think I could get used to not reaching for pegs on the headstock when tuning
>>131108887i like fat necks. easier to play intricate chord melody stuff, feels like im trying to shove sausages into a small jar fingering certain chords on thin necksi can play like blues or sweepy riffs faster on the skinny ones though but it's not really my scene
>>131108898Ebin meme man jammin makes me kek 2 keks
cloth pushback wire or plastic wire for guitar wiring? what do you prefer? i need to buy a fucking stripper (and something to strip my wires too eheheheh) and im debating just buying some cloth pushback even though its more expensive.
>>131108894based taste
>>131109085i like the cloth one. if only because i think it's cool and vibey and it makes me hate the actual act of soldering a bit less. plastic is fine but more annoying and it never comes out looking as good ime. im not exactly a soldering enthusiast tho, i just fix my shit if its broken
>>131104035does anyone use multi effects pedals? what do you use them for? do you just run your whole setup off one? do you recommend them at all?i'm very interested to see what /gg/ thinks
fuggo kissless virgin the guitar
>>131109182>call it silvertone>it's actually tintone
>>131109133my first "pedalboard" wass a boss me-50, before that i messed around on my dad's multifx zoom thing in my experience, the me-50 was like, okay, it had some cool stuff. it's main usp was that unlike a lot of multi effects it was kinda set up like the same way an actual pedalboard would be, with a bunch of individual knobs and pedals for different stuffother multifx that you have to like scroll through menus and edit patches and stuff, i hate them, it just ruins my whole creative flow, I'd rather just use fake pedals in logic. or yknow, ideally, a pedalboard with like a bunch of different pedals that have like 3 knobs on each and you can plug them in different orders etc etcif you're poor just get a few boss pedals. if you're really poor then get behringer or something like that, the analog ones are fineat least that's my 2c, i know there's people who live like amp sims and multifx and stuff but to me it honestly all sounds fake and gay but more importantly is just way less fun to use
>>131109057I mainly play jazz chords and arpeggiated stuff and don’t really do much shreddy stuff. I hate skinny shredder necks, I like my necks fat like a 50s Gibson, nuts thin and frets small like a 50s Fender, and a radius no flatter than 12” but 7.25” to 10” are my preferred ones. I’ve got long skinny fingers and have no problem squeezing fingers into tighter shapes
>>131109228i actually have really skinny fingers too so maybe the sausages analogy is a bit misleading. maybe it's cause i also play classical guitar which has like seriously wide necks so i just got used to stuff that was easy to do on there and when electrics are too thin to pull it off i get all like >:(
>>131109261Oh yeah I can’t do wide flat classical necks. A friend I record with is a big nerd classical player and we can’t deal with each others guitars
>>131109306You shouldn't let other men play your guitar
I played a lot today and my fingertips don't even hurt. We're back baby!
>>131109348yea that's actually reallike not because it's gay or whatever but idk. people have different sweat that sometimes messes with my finish or gets oily. or sometimes istg it messes with my setup and i have to readjust the neck or bridge, like cause they just hold it differently and jerk it in a weird way or something, and it gets thrown out of balance i used to run a jam night so i would share my guitar sometimes but i never took my favourite guitars, just some old junker i had lying around
hey can anyone help out with this?not sure if anyone has had the same problem basically on some of my guitars the neck feels weird now. like, kind of sticky? or kinda like.. there's some sort of dirt on it. but, I've tried cleaning it all kindsa ways and nothing seems to get it back to how it felt before. so i think maybe something has chemically changed with the finish? is there any way to make it feel good again?
>>131109529Are you a very sweaty anon by any chance? What kind of finishes are we talking? What have you used to clean it? Is it the fretboard too or just the back of the neck?
>>131109443i was just watching his lessons
>>131109611I've been ear training using the links in OP. He was right about it. Everyone should be doing it assuming you're not some naturally gifted autist.
>>131109658>using the links in OPwait I was using this one for standard intervalshttps://saverinonrails.github.io/
>>131109598no im not really very sweaty. it's just the back of the neck, and it's only on 2 of my guitars (an epiphone and a squier), it's not happened to any others, fenders, ibanez, esp etc, none of my acoustics. so i think they might use a different kind of finish?

>>131109685>(an epiphone and a squier)
https://voca.ro/14yQHelcC1hR
>>131109113Soldering is for cucks. I dont even own a soldering iron and I changed my pickups. I just twisted wires together taped it together.
>>131109685Potentially. What did you use to clean them?
>>131109765salty milk and coins.
>>131109765idk really i try not to use anything harsh, usually just like very mild soapy water and a microfibre clothi did some research and apparently polyurethane finishes can do this thing where the outer layer gets stickier over timei just sanded them both down a bit with 5k grit sandpaper (well more like polished them i guess) and it's totally fixed now yay>>131109739yea i think it's cause they are cheaper than my other ones, that's why they had it. i think most of my others are more spenny and have nitro finishes
