I have a 245 SE that I bought after trying a load of Gibson Les Pauls that cost five times as much and geuninely couldn't find one with decent fretwork and I'm very happy with it. The top is nice but its made of three pieces of cheap lumber, the pickups are nothing special and the tuning heads are cheap too. It was worth £400 at the time.But its my favourite guitar to play over a load of expensive stuff that I should really just sell at this point.So I believe the hype.

i feel like the worst thing a tone can be is muddy. theres nothing worse than a muddy guitar tone where you cant even make out the power chords because they have been sterilized by some EMGshit pickup. noise i can deal with, its even a positive in some cases if you're doing that corgan fuzz crushed into oblivion tone. but god is there anything more boring than a humbucker with no treble or glass to it

I had the engineer turn down the drums in my IEM so I could tell him to bring them up in the song intro
I'm playing an electric guitar through a bass amp because it's what father already had around the house. I notice that when I play with overdrive the high notes sound too fuzzy, closer to static noise than guitar distortion, wondering if the amp is just not built for those high frequencies. But I'm also using a multi-effect digital pedal so maybe the effects aren't that great. What might be an easy way to check if what's fucking up the sound is the pedal or the amp?
>>131520463Depends on the amp and the pedal, but in very general terms, nothing is stopping you from playing guitar through a bass amp (or vice versa). You could try turning down the treble on the amp, or add EQ in the multi FX unit after the distortion and cut out things above ~2 kHz until it sounds good. Might want to RTFM.
